Sunghoon and Eunha shared everything
-secrets under starlit skies, laughter that echoed through childhood streets, promises sworn on scraped knees. But time twists even the strongest bonds.
One betrayal. Countless silences.
Arguments chipped away at...
"Sooo.. how was tutoring?" His elbow jabbed my ribs
"Fine," I muttered, adjusting my backpack.
He suddenly halted. "Sunghoon... I can't walk with you to class."
"Why? Something wrong?" Jake checked his watch, avoiding my eyes. "Dad called me to the principal's office. Meet you in class." I waved him off, unease prickling my neck as he hurried away.

Recess bell rang. "Finally free!" Jinyoo chirped, stacking her books. "Cafeteria?"
I nodded, trailing her out-until she ducked into the bathroom. ..... Ten minutes passed. What's taking so long?
Then-my name.
"Eunha's so damn annoying," Jinyoo's voice hissed from inside. I froze, door cracked just enough to see Aecha smirking as Jinyoo continued: "She was laughing with Sunghoon at Euphoria yesterday. Disgusting." "If she doesn't back off," Aecha purred, "'ll ruin someone she loves. Too bad her CEO parents are untouchable." Jinyoo's laugh curdled my blood. "The idiot still thinks we're friends. Pathetic."
My hands shook. All this time...

I slumped at my desk, hollow. Just a money bag to them. Sleep swallowed me whole.

l awoke to gentle pressure on my shoulder. "Eunha?" Sunghoon's voice was soft, but his brow furrowed as he took in my tear-stained face. "You slept through sixth period."
The concern in his dark eyes nearly undid me. "I wasn't hungry," I lied, rubbing my stiff neck. The truth sat like lead in my stomach.
"Come on." He stood abruptly, slinging my bag over his shoulder despite my protests. "You're eating dinner."

Snowflakes swirled around us, catching in Sunghoon's dark lashes. Our joined hands, tucked safely in his jacket pocket, felt like the only warm thing left in the world.
"Warmer?" he asked, giving my fingers a gentle squeeze.
I nodded, burying my face deeper into my scarf to hide the blush creeping up my cheeks.
...
The waiter beamed at us. "What can I get you lovebirds tonight?" Sunghoon didn't correct him. He just smiled - a real, genuine smile that made my traitorous heart skip.
"You remembered my favorites," ! murmured when he ordered the tiramisu.
His eyes met mine. "I remember everything about you."
