I was a little nervous, but the bus ride wasn't as horrible when I fell asleep. The hotel was nice too. The school was able to get a deal because of us being a school. There wasn't too many hotels like this in Japan, especially outside of Okinawa. Rozuka and I settled in well. We made it our little home away from home."This isn't so bad. I just feel bad for you having to spend all day with those two scary guys from class tomorrow. There's no way this is going to go well."
"I don't know about that, Rozuka. Nanjo said that he really was just happy to not to school, and Sakurayashiki actually likes japanese history. I'm hoping that they're going to act like students during this trip."
"Do you honestly trust them enough for them to do that?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. Whatever happens, it can't be that bad, right?"
I was wrong. In the morning, we were put into our groups. Sakurayashiki and Nanjo couldn't decide where to go first. Nanjo wanted to get breakfast, but Sakurayashiki wanted to start working on our search. Our job was to go to major sights and find out certain information and facts there. We'd get a stamp while there too, to make sure we weren't cheating. We had three days to get to seven places, which you'd think was a lot, but we were travelling all over the city. There was only so much we could do, meaning there was a lot of walking ahead of us. Sakurayashiki wanted to get into it right away so we could have lunch because the class was already given breakfast. I was just stuck in the middle.
Nanjo shrugged. "Kaoru, relax. We've got lots of time."
"Actually, it's best if we start on the work. We should start at the furthest points and work our way towards the hotel. We do still have a curfew and some of these places are a pretty far hike from the city. We'll most likely have to use our bus tickets for the places outside of the city, so we might as well do that now and get it over with."
"Seriously?"
Sakurayashiki nodded. "Hikari is finally making sense. The sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can head somewhere for lunch. We only have enough bus tickets to get out and back. We need to make it there and back in a timely manor."
"Please, Nanjo?"
He sighed. "Fine, but I get to pick where we're having lunch."
"Fine."
We set out on our journey. We had to wear our uniforms while out, but after four, we were able to go back to the hotel and change. I was looking forward to that time. Sakurayashiki and I were utterly and completely drawn in by the history of the places we went to. Nanjo dragged us over to the fortunes.
"I don't think we should..."
"Relax, we'd be using our own money, so the school doesn't have credit for it. Kaoru, you want to see your future, don't you?"
"I guess it would be good to know. There's something specific I'd like to know about... This idea might not be so bad this time, Kojiro."
We all went to the table and picked up a fortune. Each one would have a telling on it. Nanjo had the word Luck. Sakurayashiki had the words Bad Luck. For me, I got the word Love. "This must be a mistake."
"Deary, my fortunes have never been wrong before. This is your fortune for your trip."
Sakurayashiki sighed. "Our fortunes all seem strange, but I won't deny they may be true. We just need to continue on. We should finish our work before these fortunes set in. If I really am going to have bad luck, we need to finish our journey out here before heading back."
We ended up missing lunch and instead, had dinner together. Nanjo picked some resturant off the street, and we went inside. It wasn't bad. I had to admit, when it came to food, Nanjo was good. Even Sakurayashiki agreed that Nanjo was the food expert. Dinner was really good. It was a great restaurant, and they made the food right in front of us. There was also a show that they had. On top of the show that was making the food, that was. There was a singer and they were doing a live show. It was pretty impressive.
