Six: Pain

Kojiro took a skateboard from his bag. "You forgot this."

"It's not mine."

Sakurayashiki grabbed it. "I know this board. This was Adam's board."

"It still is his. I told you, Kojiro, it's not mine."

"Why would you even try skateboarding?"

Sakurayashiki laughed. "Did you take my advice?"

"No... I just wanted to see what was so fun about it. I still don't get it."

"You just haven't figured it out yet."

"Or... think about this for a moment, I tried something I thought was fun and got yelled at."

"So that's what he was mad at you about."

"Kind of. It's way more complicated than that."

Sakurayashiki sighed. "I thought I was the one who was suppose to be unlucky. You were suppose to have love, Hikari."

"All it said was love. It didn't say good or bad."

"You've got a point."

Kojiro laughed nervously. "Are we still talking about Rin here?"

"Rin?" Rozuka asked.

"That's me."

"I know that, I just didn't realize you were that close."

He turned to me. "I'm guessing having me step in isn't going to help?"

"He'd changed. I can see it too."

"Do you have a plan on what to do?"

"My plan? Somehow talk Papà into letting my choose my own boyfriend or convince Momma that he's not the best choice at least..."

Sakurayashiki spoke up. "Preferably a good cook?"

"Papá says that a good husband should be able to cook at a moments notice. That's how he got Momma. She fell for his handsomeness and the fact he used to make the cutest lunches for her when she didn't have time from working so hard. He was also the only one who got her to take breaks. She's a workaholic. I guess I can be sometimes too. I just want what's best for the family. Though, sometimes I just wish I didn't have to be forced to marry someone. Momma was lucky and had siblings, but I don't."

"Wouldn't she want you to marry for love?" Rozuka asked. "What about your father? I bet he's not just good looking, but also smart."

The pink haired bastard laughed. "He seemed to really like the Gorilla. Maybe you should just date him?"

Rozuka shook her head. "Hikari isn't dating any of your stupid group. She's not dumb enough to be with someone in a gang!"

I was surprised when Kojiro burst into laughter. "They're arguing about who you should be with, but who cares what anyone thinks. Just do whatever you want. That's what fun is."

"That's what fun is, huh?" I thought about it. "If that's what fun is, than what's love in your opinion?"

"I guess that would be the person you feel you can't live without."

Sakurayashiki rolled his eyes. "Trust me, Hikari, you'd know if you were in love. If anyone got near them, you'd lose your head and want to dead ass beat the others to a pulp."

"Kaoru, that's fucked up."

I shook my head. "No, he's right."

"Is that actually what love is like? I'm glad I've never been in love then. Could you imagine being in love with a ladies man?"
