Izuku POV

She took a breath before continuing. "In fact, you don't have a mother at all. You have two dads. Two dads who love you more than anything in this world. I'm sure that if it wasn't for their work, they would both be here right now."

I was speechless, just trying to process everything. "So...my name isn't Izuku Midoriya, it's Izuku Freecss, and I have two dads." I summed up. Sure, I could fit it all in one sentence, but those words had a lot more weight to them than you'd think. Inko nodded. "Yep. I'm actually just your aunt, but for the past 15 years, I've been covering as your mother. Your parents have a lot of enemies, so to keep you safe, your fathers and I agreed to change your last name. I insisted that we change both for extra safety precautions. But oh, your parents were SO not having it. They loved your name and absolutely refused to let me change it." Inko chuckled at the memory, looking up at the ceiling. "I...guess that makes sense."

"But who would want to enemies with my parents? Did they have some kind of high-risk job or something?" I thought. I quickly shoved those thoughts to the back of my brain as a new question entered my mind.

Hesitantly, I gained the courage to ask her, "So, what were my parents like?" She looks over at me with excitement. "I'll tell you, but first let me find this one photo..." She began rummaging through the box again. "AHA! BINGO!" She held up a small printed photo in triumph. Once she brought it back down to where I could see it, I looked at it. It was a photo of what I assumed was my dad, my other dad, and me.

The one with fluffy white hair and sapphire blue eyes was cradling me in his arms. Or at least, who I assumed was me. "Which parent is that one? the one holding the baby." I asked. Inko looked over at him. "Oh, that's Killua. He's a pretty chill, laid-back kind of guy. He's highly analytical and can keep his cool in high-pressure situations. Though, he can be a bit distant and comes off as rude and cocky to people he doesn't know. Otherwise, he's just a simp for your other father, Gon. Do you see that other blackish-greenish-haired guy? Yeah, that's my younger brother, Gon. He's energetic, bubbly, and very child-like. He's a very emotional fighter, quite unpredictable. You got most of your personality from him, especially your kind heart. That's my favorite part about you."

I listened intently, storing as many small details as possible, wishing to learn as much as I could about these two mysterious people who just so happened to be my biological parents.

Then, something came to mind. "Hey, mo-...um, auntie Inko?" She looked over at me. "Yes?" She responded. I pointed to the picture again. "Who was taking the photo?"

Auntie Inko looked shocked as it had also just dawned on her that someone else had to have taken that photo. Then, her face melted into a fond smile. "Well, I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that one of those two close friends of your fathers took that photo. If I remember correctly, their names are Kurapika and Leorio." I nodded and smiled too. "Do you have any more photos?" Auntie Inko's smile turned into a smirk. "Do I have any more photos? Dear, I am the QUEEN of photos. I have an entire stash in my room!" We both laughed.

That evening, auntie and I spent our time looking through the mountain photos, videos, and small sentimental objects from my past. At one point, Inko even found an entire photo album of back when my dads were around 12-15 years old!

Man, I don't think I'll ever get used to this. Switching from calling the only parental figure in my life "mom" for almost 15 years, then on my 16th birthday, suddenly witching to "auntie Inko". It was a massive change for me. It just felt so weird and so wrong, yet, at the same time...I liked the change. I felt that everything sort of clicked. Everything was right, no "pretending" to be my mom. She was being who she actually was to me; my aunt.

Of course, though, that wasn't going to stop me from seeing her as a maternal figure in my life.

"Hey, auntie Inko?" I asked cautiously. She looked up from the box she was going through and hummed in response, awaiting my question. "Do you...um...do you- mind, if I, uh...y'know, changed my last name? Like, uh...go back to using Freecss instead of...Midoriya?" She thought about it for a moment. "I don't mind. I mean, I know I'm your guardian, but I still don't have full legal control over your life. Do you want me to change your name in the school system, too?" I nodded gratefully. "Yes, I would like that a lot." "Okay, then! I'll contact the school soon and have it changed by Monday."

We talked for a little while longer before I checked the time, realizing I had to leave soon. Auntie Inko, being the kind soul that she is, dropped me off at the UA entrance.

Now, don't go thinking I left home empty-handed. Oh, no. That woman made sure that my arms were full of things to take back to the dorms with me. The things she sent along with me varied from food to some of the pictures and objects we had looked at earlier. Thank goodness my classmates have large appetites.

Now the only issue is trying to find somewhere in my All Might shrine to keep all of his new photos and objects.
