When Virgil realized it, the portal closed behind him.
"No! Nonono.. it took me back to the Mindpalace.. It..It didn't work... Did Tiffany..mean to do this..?"
Anxiety hugged himself as he felt himself shake. He was fighting the oncoming panic attack, praying all of this was another sick and twisted dream.
Surely Tiffany wouldn't have sent him the wrong portal on purpose.. Right?
Of course not...
As Virgil sat down on the couch, trying to take deep breaths, another portal opened up.
In an almost desperate panic, he had hoped his prince would be the one coming through that portal, and into his arms.
But instead, it was his brother.
And Logan.
And Janus.
Virgil's eyes widened as he shot up. "Jan!! Wait- hold on- be careful!-"
Janus went over and squeezed Virgil's hands softly. "Love, they're okay now.. They're no longer under Damion's control.."
Virgil took a moment to put that into consideration, nodding. He then pulled Janus close and smashed his lips against his.
Both held each other for a long minute, smiling softly after rather reluctantly pulled away from each other's lips. The locked eyes for a long minute, until someone cleared their throat.
"While I am truly sorry for interrupting the reunion, we still need to get Roman and Patton back.." Logan said, adjusting his glasses.
"Right..Right..we have to go get them quickly," Janus said, holding Virgil's hand. "Remus? The portal?"
"Jan.."
"Remus..? You're pale.. what's wrong..?" Janus asked, a worried look taking over his features.
"I..I-I think Damion's trying to gain control again..."
"...I feel it too..." Logan said, taking a deep breath.
"No matter what, continue to fight it for as long as you can.." Virgil replied quickly, shaking a bit.
Both nodded.
"Re, c'mon, let's..Let's bring another portal here quickly.." Janus repeated, a bit uneasy.
Remus nodded, summoning a portal to the Imagination.
As quickly as they arrived, they jumped through the portal once more.
