"NO!!!!"
Virgil had to take a second to realize what had just happened. He was brought to some unknown location through a portal Roman had made for him. He was alone. Roman was gone- in danger.
But Virgil was alone.
His whole body shaking, he began to sob quietly, fearing for his and Roman's life. If only all of this could've just been a horrid nightmare that he could suddenly wake up from. Then he could wake up next to Janus and Roman, and hug them both tightly. And then Patton would give him a plate of cookies and a glass of milk, while Logan would read him some story to help calm him, and Remus would hug him as well.
He longed for those simpler times.
He took this time to take in his surroundings; he was in the base of a tower. He frowned a bit. Of all places, why would Roman send him here? Out of sheer protection? A mistake? Or was this purposeful?
Hesitantly, Virgil headed towards the staircase, feeling his heartbeat quicken in pace. The stairs seemed to be old, some of the wood rotted. As soon as he put his foot down a random plank of the wood, his foot went through it. He clung to the rail bar, holding on for dear life so he wouldn't fall.
About halfway up the stairs, Virgil saw a flickering light in the room above, at the end of the staircase. It seemed to be candlelight. So someone had to be up there as well.. The anxious trait had to hope this person would be good.
After reaching the top step, Virgil got a peek around the new room: lit candles all attached to the walls for a source of light, cobwebs dusting every nook and cranny, and a silhouette sitting at a desk, seeming to be writing something.
Virgil frowned a bit, trying to figure out who the other person was. The figure wore a royal purple robe, which almost seemed like a dress. This person seemed to have long red- almost brown- hair, tied up in a bun.
"Virgil, I know you're there."
Anxiety's blood ran cold, and his eyes widened.
The person didn't even face him. The voice seemed smooth and feminine, and had a sort of lull to it. She stopped writing, however. "I know he sent you here."
"Wh...what...?" Virgil barely managed to get out.
"I'm glad that he trust me enough to protect you.. I just wish I could've done the same for him.."
"Who.. I-I'm sorry..but who are you...?"
"The Dragon Witch."
The rotted stairs underneath Virgil gave out, causing him to fall. He let out a scream.
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Excellent work, you two. You will be greatly rewarded for this.. But where is Virgil?"
"This one decided to make a portal so Virgil could escape."
Damion glared harshly at Roman. "Really now.. Well that just won't do.."
Roman growled, his blood boiling in pure rage. "What do you FUCKING WANT?!?!"
Damion tsked. "Take him to the Chamber. Carry out the memory wipe. Make sure this time it's/ permanent/."
Roman, in a blind panic, began to fight both Patton and his brother, with every ounce of strength he has. There was no way he was going down without a fight. He kneed Pat in the ribs and punched Remus in the face as hard as he could.
Damion watched in amusement, taking out a syringe. "Looks like someone has some anger issues~ why don't we just fix that~"
Before Roman could get away from him, Damion grabbed him by the collar, injecting the syringe into the side of his neck. Within seconds, Roman went limp in his arms, fast asleep.
Remus took the unconscious prince in his arms, from Damion.
"Now go. You both have your job. Greed said he was going to go find Virgil. Pretty soon you two will have some more help."
The manipulative side watched Patton and Remus leave. The smirk faltered from his face a little. "Is this worth it?"
......
The smirk returned. "Of course it is."
