Emma's PoV

No, he must be high or drunk. There is no way that I could've appeared from thin air.

So I stood up and ignored him. But he didn't seem to want it. He asked again.

I was scared to answer, I didn't want to talk to someone I didn't know or a beggar.

I kept on walking, but didn't make it far before I was dragged into a dark alley. I always end up in an alley. Because of four- six boys.

As I was thrown onto the ground, I realized that the person, no people weren't anyone from my school. They were older, tougher, angrier. What have I gotten myself into?!

"Tell us how you just performed magic and we might let you go," the middle one of the three said. My breathing turned rigid. Magic? Had I performed magic?

I couldn't take, I couldn't even move my mouth. Not even a single finger could make a movement. Or a shiver. I was so afraid. I didn't know how to answer the question and I wanted to be free.

"I-I, I, I," was all I could manage.

I could feel the beads of sweat trickle down from my forehead, tickling my skin ever so slightly. My body temperature raised quite high. I was just so afraid, I don't think I've ever been so afraid before.

"Are you going to tell us?" he asked again, something under the sleeves of his shirt glowing. Like Mia. The rest of their arms were glowing too. Mia was dangerous, meaning that these men were too, although I already knew that.

"Anthony, I don't think she could be. Look at the weakling," the one to the left, which I recognized as the beggar, said. Could be what? I kept getting left out!

And a weakling? People keep telling me that. Can't they understand that I already know it's true?

No, I shouldn't be saying it's true. I need to stay strong, even if Dani has betrayed me. Even though I'm utterly heart broken.

"I think she is! We have to kill her," the one to the right said. Kill me?

Go ahead, my life already completely sucks. I don't even know why I haven't done it myse- isn't this what "my dad" wanted? No, I will never do what he wants.

"Please just let me go!" I cried as the anger towards "my dad" burned in my heart, making my whole body unfreeze.

"No! We must kill you!" the middle one said, flames appearing in his open palm.

Woah! Flames. How did he do that! They were dangerous! Flames kill you.

It has to be an affect, a special chemical making it look real. I've heard of these illusions. He's the real magician.

I scrambled away, but I was already extremely close to the wall. There was nowhere to go except right and... under their legs.

"Anthony, she actually doesn't seem like one!" Like what?!

"And you said she appeared out of thin air." No, I didn't, he's probably high!

Anthony brought his flaming hand closer, and even though I knew they were fake, I was frightened. I was about to burned to death. Such a torturous fate.

And in a way, this isn't exactly what my dad wanted. But he did want me to die.

For fake flames, they were pretty warm. The warmth was felt even from a meter difference.

I screamed as the flames licked at my shirt. They were real.

The color was slowly turning into a coal black as the flames burned it more and more.

And then, Anthony pressed his hand onto my shoulder, and just about there I passed out. The pain was too much. I couldn't handle so much at a time.

3rd PoV

As Anthony kept burning Emma's shoulder, the other two, Oscar and Barry, looked around, keeping watch.

Suddenly, Oscar noticed a quite recognizable figure in the distance.

"Barry, Anthony. We need to flee, I see Torres," Oscar gasped. Torres suddenly disappeared from where she was, teleporting away.

"She's teleported somewhere," Oscar squeaked.

"Doing something?" Torres' famous scary voice asked. The three men turned around, eyeing the witch.

Anthony's hand was still blazing fire, but it wasn't on Emma anymore.

Just as they were about to turn around and run, a wall, see through but buzzing with red electricity and visible light waves appeared.

"Ooh, three kanays. What a treat, great one and only conduits!" Torres said happily as the men attempted to throw fireballs at her.

She ducked each one, and some she froze using her powers.

"I thought I got rid of all the Churi kanays, but apparently not," Torres smiled as she tried to ignore the rotten egg smell of the kanays. She thought she smelled vanilla, another witch, but she ignored it.

Almost as quick as she came, Torres was gone. Except now the three men had been teleported with her. She had captured them, using them for later plans.

She hadn't even given Emma a second glance, let alone one. Torres could've healed her, but Emma lay, bleeding from her wound, the dirt and her shirt infecting the opened skin.

Dani's PoV

What happened to Emma? Why had she just run away like that?

And since the Council had turned the two of us invisible, the boys were scared sh*tless when the door opened and closed on its own.

But I was getting really worried, school was over, I had gotten past a minor beating from the six. Now I was at home and Emma wasn't anywhere to be seen.

I called the Council using the special device, that, must I say, looks extremely ugly. But it won't work to call them on other phones.

"Ramona from the Witches' Council," she said on the other end.

"Hi, Ramona. I, um, don't know where Emma is. I need your powers to find out where she is."

"Oh alright, fine," she groaned. She never enjoyed being in the Council, she was my least favorite.

"Well, she's in some sort of alley and there's this dude who just walked in on her."

"What?!"

"Which alley? There are thousands in London."

"I don't know. It's close to a Burberry store. Oh my god! I'm going there later tomorrow, I need new clothes."

"Well, okay, thanks. But who's the dude?"

"I don't know. That's why I called him a 'dude'."

"I mean what does he look like?"

"Oh! Um, he has, like, brown hair and a weird birthmark on his neck. That's all I can see. He's still looking at Emma." That trademark birthmark...

"Liam?!"

"Well, he's not hot. And that name is so nerdy! Whatever. Just take care of Emma, Danielle."

"I'm doing my best," I told her before hanging up. No goodbyes. It's not needed.

Now. I had to find Emma.
