S2 - Chapter 11: Nightmares

Emiko

I can't sleep.

It's been a week since we left Egypt, and sleeping is pure torture for me.

Every single time I fall asleep, I dream of him. Seth. And every time, all I see is his decayed bony face. His dead eyes staring into my soul. And every single time, he says the same thing.

Seth: "Soon, my bride"

I sat up with a jolt and a scream, laying in my bed back in my dorm room. It was pitch black, but I swear I could see Seth hiding in the darkness.

Suddenly, the bedroom door opened and the lights turned on. Himari ran into the room and sat next to me, wrapping her arms around me.

Himari: "You're okay, everything's okay"

I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my body.

Emiko: "S-Sorry... another nightmare"

Himari: "You seriously need to tell someone about this"

Emiko: "We've tried that, and even Osiris couldn't do anything to help. And he's Seth's father"

I couldn't control my own body, it was shaking out of fear. Every time I closed my eyes, I could see his face.

Himari: "I'll try talking to Aphrodite, maybe she can give you something to help. I won't give specifics, I'll just say you're having bad nightmares. She'll believe that"

Emiko: "Thanks..."

Himari: "Okay, try and get some rest. Everything will be okay"

She started to get up, but I quickly grabbed her arm before she could get up.

Emiko: "P-Please, d-don't leave me alone"

Himari nodded and climbed into bed with me. I held her close and buried my face into her shoulder. Tears slowly ran down my face.

Emiko: "I-I'm so scared..."

Himari rubbed my back and the back of my head a little.

Himari: "It's okay, I'm here, he won't hurt you"

Throughout the entire night, I continued to have more nightmares, most worse than the ones that came before it.

The next day, Himari took me to the Biology classroom after school hours. We did our best to keep the thing about Seth a secret.

The classroom had changed to Aphrodite's weird bedroom style of a room. With a huge bed in the shape of a heart, and a few chairs and couches around the room. Himari and I were sitting on the couch, while Aphrodite was sitting in a chair.

Aphrodite: "So, sweeties, what did you want to talk about?"

Aphrodite gasped and looked extremely excited.

Aphrodite: "Did you two finally get the primal urges for each other?! You came to the right person!"

Emiko: "N-No... it's not that"

Aphrodite: "Oh, my apologies. Then please, explain your issue"

Himari: "Emiko has been having extremely bad nightmares since we got back from Egypt, and they're getting worse"

Aphrodite: "What kind of nightmares?"

She fixated her eyes onto me.

Emiko: "Just... you know... nightmares"

Aphrodite gave me a suspicious look. Then, her eyes opened wide.

Aphrodite: "You made a deal with a God, didn't you"
