More Than Him - Endeavour x Reader

Inspiration: More Than This - One Direction 

Pairing - Endeavour x Reader, Enji Todoroki x Reader. 

Note: Reader is same age as Endeavour throughout the scenes.

It was a struggle between Enji and Toshinori between who could get her attention first. Enji was hot headed and passionate at heart and wanted nothing but to show Y/n the best things in life. Though he had no way of telling her because he feared it would ruin their teamwork. Toshinori was shy and acted brashly on his feelings. He flirted and showed off all the time.  

It was a sunny day like any other and they were hanging out together when there was meowing coming from a nearby tree. "Toshi~, Enji~" Y/n cooed as she pulled them along behind her. They came to a halt in front of the tree and saw the cat stuck in the higher branches. Toshinori exchanged glances with Y/n before climbing the tree and jumping back down with the cat in his arms. 

Enji could only look on as Y/n kissed Toshinori's cheek and cradled the cat to her chest. That was the day the rivalry started. From then on he tried to be louder, clearer about his feelings towards her. He just hoped that she'd listen.

It was tough being a pro hero, the three of them was always busy but every time Y/n arranged to go out, Enji accepted. "So Endeavour, missed me?" cooed Y/n coyly. Enji sucked in a sharp breath. It sounded right hearing his hero name fall from her lips. He coughed to hide his embarrassment. "Let's catch up shall we?" he asked as he looked down at his drink. All he could think about was how he had come to resent All Might. There was always a growing gap between them. 

Toshinori was faster than him, seemed more out going than him. Just everyone seemed to enjoying talking and looking at All Might more than him. How he missed Y/n over the years. Their meetings had become less and less frequent as time went on. Toshinori even left for overseas to study abroad. Enji couldn't help but relish in the fact that he was now alone with Y/n. 

Even if he wanted to have her, he couldn't. "So, married now huh?" mused Y/n bringing attention to the gold band around Enji's ring finger. He hummed in response. If he couldn't have Y/n then he'd just find someone else to bear stronger children with. Though every day he knew his heart cried out for Y/n. 

A sparkle caught his eyes. The same ring she'd been wearing for years still wrapped around her pinky finger. It was the gift Toshinori gave her years ago when they started dating. A promise that he'd settle down with her when he got back from America. Enji's eyes trailed over her body. He was surprised to see the necklace he gave her for her 18th birthday, sitting around her neck. 

When they walked outside, talking like good friends again, they were stopping in their tracks. Y/n dropped her bag and ran towards the familiar stranger in front of him. He couldn't help the hatred building up inside of him. The jealously slowly callousing his heart. "Toshi! You're back!" he heard Y/n laugh delightfully before throwing her arms around Toshinori, now dubbed, All Might. 

Again he couldn't compete. All he could think about was that he could give her more than All Might could. He could've had Y/n years ago and they could be settled down by now, living the dream life. She could retire from hero work and focus on kids just like she wanted. He wouldn't say no to anything that she wanted. He could give her much more than Toshinori.

It was unlike anything he had seen before. The destruction amassed high numbers of death. Both he and All Might were on the scene to help search and rescue. He would much rather be at home training Shoto but here he was as requested.
