Eren's surgery day
My nerves are all over the place, so many questions going through my head. Eren on the other hand looks at peace, like there's not a care in the world.
"Armin you're sweating, calm down." Eren laughs at me as I wipe the sweat off my forehead.
"It's not funny Eren, how are you so calm?"
He smiles and looks up at the ceiling without answering my question. His eyes are happy and his skin is full of color. The red blanket he's usually snuggled up in is strewn on the floor. The sun's out and lighting up the room without the help of the electrical lights in the room.
"Hey Eren I was wondering, where should our first actual date be?" He turns his attention back to me and thinks a little before he answers.
"It'll be a surprise."
"I don't like-"
"I know you don't like surprises Armin I knowww, but this is a good surprise." Surprises suck, I can't prepare or plan for anything like I usually do so I'm just stuck waiting.
"Fine, but can you please drink your water?" He looks over at the water bottle next to him bed and shakes his head.
"I'm tried of drinking water."
"Well thats all you can drink until after surgery." His surgery starts in two hours...two hours. I look out the window, leaves fall from the trees signaling the beginning of fall. The sun shines in the sky brighter than ever. Everything is gonna be okay. "Wanna go down to the gardens? The sun's out."
"Sure."
"You have to go in the wheelchair though." I wheel it over to his bed and he frowns at me.
"I don't need that, I can walk perfectly fine."
"No wasting your energy before surgery Eren get in the chair." He glares at me and then gets into the wheelchair. "Thank you."
I take him to the elevator and we go to the bottom floor. Once we're out in the garden I wheel him to the spot we sat in with everyone the first day we met. A small pile of dead flowers sit on the ground. The were the extras we didn't use. It used to be 8 people who sat here, now it's down to two. "Wanna make flower crowns?" I ask.
Eren nods in agreement, I get up and walk over to grab some flowers to use. "Do you remember how?"
"Don't underestimate me Armin I'm a master at this now." He smirks.
"Okay, we'll see." I hand him a stack of flowers and watch as he folds each one just how I taught him.
Around us leaves fall and all the plants sway in the wind. As I start my crown I think of how Historia was the first one to suggest we did this. Ymir would always make one extra special for Historia. Jean and Marco hung eachothers up in their rooms next to their beds, they said it was for good luck. Sasha and Connie's were usually pretty sloppy cause they were laughing too much to actually care how they came out.
A few tears fall as I remember each of my friends that are far from my reach.
"I miss them too." Eren sighs.
"I wonder how Marco's doing." After Marco left I realized I never got his number. We spent everyday together so no one thought that we even needed to exchange them. "I hope he's happy."
After about an hour Eren and I leave the garden amd head back up to Eren's room so he can start his pre-OP.
"I'll see you when you get out okay?" I tell him before Hange and Hitch wheel him back to where I can't go.
I walk back into Eren's room and sit on his bed. Soon after to black haired people walk in, one a short man in a designer suit and the other a tall girl with a scar on her face. If I'm correct this is Eren's sister and uncle.
"You must be Armin, it's so nice to meet you, I'm Mikasa." She smiles and shakes my hand.
"Who's this?" The man asks.
"This is Armin, Eren's boyfriend. Armin this is Levi."
"Since when does the brat have a boyfriend." Levi asks shocked.
"For a while now Levi keep up." Mikasa sits at the end of the bed with me and Levi pulls up a chair.
"You look much more put together than Eren so I guess you're fine." Levi says. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and laugh a little.
Mikasa and I talk for a long time about all kinds of things. She's a photographer and that's always been one of my intrests so she showed me a bunch of her photos. We talk about Eren and all his embarrassing stories. I reccomend her a few books to read that I thought she would like and she made sure to put them in her notes app.
Levi just sat and watched us curiously and we talked enthusiastically about the most random things.
