A path drawing him towards it, making him rebellious. A part of him knowing well that this might not be the thing that will play on his side.
But isn't his life already a didactic poetry since he met her?Kabeer knew this was an uncongenial situation and his impetuous way of dealing with it was iniquitous but he also knew it will only bring him peace.... Aria.
"Wasn't really sure if you'll actually show up.", he announced as he saw the similar figure walking towards him as he braced himself for the next few things that were going to occur.
He scrutinized every moment of the person infront of him, trying to capture every action they did just so he can inculcate it in himself to become worthy of her.
He wanted to see what different Rizz had from him or how was he better in any way for Aria.
Aria was solicitous about Kabeer but he never saw anything even close in Aria's eyes for him as compared to when she looked at Rizz.
And that stung a bit but not enough to let Aria go but more enough to hurt his amour propre.
"No I actually came to saunter in a really weird alley.", Rizz replied sarcastically and Kabeer shrugged knowing it was just a facetious remark.
"You seem in a good mood today. Guess I won't be going home with a busted lip today.", Kabeer joked earning nothing but a sharp look and a smirk from Rizz.
"Say or do anything nearly close to what you did that evening and I'll make sure you don't even get to go to home today or ever."
Kabeer chuckled nervously as he held his palms up in a surrendering manner.
"Lets cut the chase. I came because you told me you wanna talk about Aria and I actually have some questions."
At the mention of Aria's name, a wistful expression washed over Kabeer's face which did not go unnoticed by Rizz.
"Aren't you the one who proposed her in front of the whole family? Aren't you the one she-", Kabeer paused himself from revealing the details of that evening where Aria confessed her feelings for Rizz.
Very tactically he revised his sentence.
"She... is marrying?", Kabeer completed with a challenging smile and even though Rizz wanted to wipe that smile off his face with a punch, he resisted that urge by looking away.
"Seems like you weren't important enough to discuss for her and now I feel the same. Don't contact me again.", Rizz turned to walk away but Kabeer's pleading voice stopped him.
"I love her. And she feels the same about me. She is impulsive and stubborn. She won't let me explain myself to her.", Kabeer said paring the important things into mere sentences almost twisting the whole situation.
"Just let me talk to her once. Just once.", he further pleaded.
Rizz sighed as he tried to understand the severity of the whole thing as a part of him slowly felt numb at the thought of Aria loving someone else crossed his mind.
The thought of Aria ending the marriage or moving out of it after a year for someone she actually loved always left Rizz with a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach but he wasn't Kabeer. He wasn't someone who would be that selfish for his own happiness that he would just crush Aria's.
And so, unknowingly and unfortunately, he made the wrong choice. Probably the most wrong choice he would ever make.
........................................
Smiling at her phone, she quickly got up from her bed to get ready.
Rizz texted her to meet her at a cafe and Aria was glad that they were finally falling back into the loop.
