Kashmir

Kashmir, our paradise on earth

To beauty, you have given birth.

A part of you, everyone wants to seize

Will ever through you, peace again breeze!

We hold Nehru, Mountbatten at fault

Why don’t you ask this past, to stop its assault.

Once upon a time, nature in your lap sway

Now, greed mars you keeping everyone at bay.

Guns, insecurity runs all through

It is always either blasts or the good old curfew.

Is referendum, an answer so fine

Will it again make you, holy and divine!

If chaos doesn’t stop

One day you’ll get tired, and scream from the top.

Muslims, Hindus, all religions are true

Make amends, or bid humanity adieu!
