some days,
i wake up
to them quarreling.
it's terrible.
and i think,
my kids will never wake up this way.
ever.
no one should have to
wake up to
the reminder
that their parents do not love each other.
no one deserves to be shaken from sleep
by the absence of love between the two people responsible for their existence.
