George POV

Clay was sporting a green rock and roll band t-shirt that I'd never heard of and black shorts, around his neck was a silver chain with a lock trinket at the beginning. Around his body was a phanny pack kind of thing but it ran from his shoulder to the opposite side of his torso and then the same thing around his back, I took this all in with one glance as he stepped out the back door.

"Hi." He greeted, sitting down next to me crisscrossed.

My feet were in the water and my baggy jeans were rolled up. "Hey."

"Want to talk about what was bothering you last night?"

I marked my book page and set it aside. "Sure." I said but didn't start talking, instead I just stared at him.

He smiled and snaked his arm around my waist. "Mkay." He put his chin on top of my head and kissed it. "You don't have to, love."

I shrugged. "I just don't really want our relationship to be public anymore.."

"What do you mean?"

"I hate all the questions about us and everyone on Twitter keeps asking me my sexuality.. it's just a lot."

"I get that." Clay said softly. "What do you want to do?"

"I don't know, I like not having to hide things from people but it's irritating, like I have to share you with eight million other people." I sighed and leaned onto his chest. "I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry?"

"I got myself into this."

Clay scoffed. "We got ourselves into this, George. And we'll handle it together."

I was quiet for a long minute. "I hate it when you love me."

He giggled. "What?"

I smiled. "You're like my wise boyfriend who knows the right answers to everything." He kissed the top of my head again.

We sat in a comfortable silence, wrapped in each other's arms before I heard Clay's phone buzz. He pulled his phone out of his back pocket and I looked at the screen with him. He opened his phone and I caught a glimpse of his home screen before he went to messages, it was a picture of him kissing my cheek as I looked at the camera, smiling and trying to cover it. It made my heart warm.

I frowned at the messages. "What's happening?"

"I don't know." He opened Twitter and I saw. "Millie gives content creator Karl Jacobs a face mask, hashtag Marl." Clay read aloud, clicking on a video someone had attached.

Millie peeled off his mask as Karl made a face at her. "I hate this." He stated.

"At least your skin will look good." Millie grinned, leaning out of the frame with little pieces of the face mask.

"Did it not before?" Karl gasped, frowning at Millie.

"Nope." She laughed and took the hair tie out of his hair, ruffling it around until it wasn't sticking up anymore. "I like your hair." She said, getting up and leaving the frame completely until she came back a minute later.

"It needs to be cut."

She shrugged and laid down next to him. "You should put it in a ponytail." She grinned to herself, grabbing a frog stuff animal and putting it between her and Karl, wrapping her arm around his torso. "It would look cute."
