Setting in the Back drop of British India, Not only the nation women was also under the control of Men. Before Marriage they were devoted to Father, After Marriage she is devoted to her Husband. She is considered dumb despite of having voice, Mostly women were puppet in Men's hands, They can't decide for Themselves ! where standing for themselves is a impossible one.

While Britishers exploited the country's Wealth and possessions, Country Men exploited Women's Freedom and Hapiness. She have been Caged all her life in the name of culture and ethics. They have framed certain rules and regulations for the Men and Women to Follow, If they cross the border they will be seen as sinners.

If everything went right Women will be in cage, If something went wrong such her husbands disowns her, marries other women or else dies, that cage will also be in stake. Her existence is Questioned and will be Forced to Join her husband in his Journey to Heaven. It's Believed she had to follow her patni dharm even in Heaven. If suppose she is spared she had to live a pathetic life of a widhwa who were outcasted by everyone. She have been pushed to follow seperate rules for them, which would melt one's soul.

As so Many evil practises prevailed only few dared to voice out, Only few dared to dream. One among them were Sumati who aspired to be Teacher was never allowed to study. Her Father believed Studying will spoil her Brain hence when she demanded to study he Married her to a Teacher Niranjan Das from calcutta and said  girls should be satisfied with their Husband's sucess and hapiness.

She could only see her Dreams shatter before her, Settled in Niranjan Das family she nurtured the family with Love and care. Her family life was smooth as she wasn't a Revolutionary as her Father have clearly warned her that her Mayka's doors were closed for her.

But When she had given a Birth to a girl child, her inlaws wanted a heir but she could not fulfill their wish and they had only one daughter. They too accepted the fate and doesn't force their son into Marrying the other women unlike others as they loved their Daughter in law much. Moreover Their Grand daughter Bondita Das became their Favourite making them Forget their wish for a Grand son.

Bondita was a chirpy and a lively girl, when she started to grow Sumati had only one wish that is to Make her Daughter Educated, She requested her husband to teach her and let her get atleast Basic Education. Even tough Relucant at the Beginninghe gave in and let his Daughter study.

Niranjan Das teached himself and let her give exams also, when she started to learn things she started Questioning each and every rules of the society. She Badly wanted to find solution for this.  She was pestering her Mother for the reason behind the evil practises that she saw.

" Ma yeh kya horaha hai, kyu horaha hai ?" But sumati didn't had answer.

When once she had grown into a teenager, she thought police would help to stop a child marriage, but got to know Police won't interfere in the internal Affairs. She asked her father when will this things change ?

His father unknown of the fact she is going to be adamant to bring the change uttered " koi kanoon lekar aaye aur is ki khilaf lade toh aa saktha hai badalav "

This things were running in the innocent mind, decided that she herself will Bring Badlav. She said to her mother " Ma mein Barrister Babu Bannungi aur humari desh ki auarton kiliye laudungi!" to which her mother closed her mouth with her palms and asked her to be quiet and not shout.

But the seed of dreams which fell on her heart grew into a giant tree, she concenterated more on her studies, even her father said no need to work harder as she is going to complete schooling then will be married off. She kept Her dream under Curatin and was wishing to fulfill it oneday.
