~Chapter 19~

The next morning you wake up in Recovery Girl's recovery room. Bakugo is still in the chair fast asleep. You try to sneak out the room to visit Kirishima making sure not to wake Bakugo up.

Bakugo: Where are you going ?

Y/n: You were awake this whole time ?

Bakugo: No, but I can hear you moving around, it woke me up.

Y/n: At least I know that if I were in danger he'd be quick to react as he's an extremely light sleeper.

Y/n: Sorry about that, I wanted to visit Kirishima before you woke up.

Bakugo: Okay.

Bakugo looks upset.

Y/n: Hey, thanks for staying with me and comforting me last night, you're a really good friend.

Bakugo: What was I supposed to do, leave you in a crying mess ? I'm training to be the number 1 hero, so why are you praising me for something I'm supposed to do ?

Y/n: Sorry, I didn't mean to hit a nerve, I just wanted you to know that I appreciate you.

Bakugo: Well I get it okay.

Y/n: Is something wrong ?

Bakugo: I don't know what you're talking about.

Bakugo: I need to control my anger, I'm not really mad at her, I'm just upset that I want what I can't have. I guess it's not fair to take it out on her.

Bakugo sighs.

Bakugo: Let's just go visit Kirishima, he should be up by now.

Bakugo walks out the room and heads next door to where Kirishima is staying, you follow behind him.

Kirishima: Bakugo ! Y/n ! You're safe. Are you guys okay ? I was reall-

Bakugo: -Idiot, you're the one who had the most severe injuries and you're asking if we're okay ? 

Kirishima laughs.

Kirishima: Well it's just in my nature to put others before me, I guess. Recovery Girl healed me up, so I feel much better.

Kirishima locks eyes with you. His cheery expression turns to remorse and guilt.

Kirishima:....I failed you, Ruby Riot. I'm sorry.

Y/n: Failed me ? What are you talking about ?

Kirishima: Even though I was at the mall to pick up hair dye and help Bakugo choose a suit, I was really supposed to be there to prevent something like that from happening. If we're going to be honest, it was luck that made us choose to search the parking garage first. It was also luck that you were still at the mall. I took a personal oath to protect you, but I let you get kidnapped.

Y/n: This wasn't your fault. This seemed like a premeditated and well thought out plan by the League of Villains, they purposely disguised themselves as Bakugo because they knew that it would lure me. There was no way for you to predict that. Besides, you did protect me, both you and Bakugo. If it weren't for you guys, I would've been dead. My quirk was weakenin-

Kirishima: -That's right, you didn't hydrate....

Bakugo: There you go worrying about everyone other than yourself.

Bakugo rolls his eyes.

Kirishima: Bakugo ! As you were saying.

Y/n: No, I didn't hydrate, I was planning on eating at the food court remember ? Anyway, if you didn't request for back up, Toga would've sliced my throat. So stop blaming yourself, you've done more than enough to protect me. You really fought to your end.
