Everything seemed to be getting worse and worse. Goku had no idea why he hadn't lost his mind with the chaos around him. His father turned abusive on him, his brother slowly caving in to his anxiety and depression, his mother only days away from passing, and now his lover who's family was torn in an instant. Goku was emotionally exhausted. At least school was almost over, and then after that all he has to worry about is getting a job. As of right now, Goku was visiting his mother. He stared at Gine for what felt like forever. He felt hot tears rush to his face before they raced down his cheeks. "Mom... I'm so tired." He whimpered, "I... I just want to rest. Rest from the chaos around..." Goku brushed some of Gine's hair from her face. "I must sound pathetic right now, huh? What would I give to have your hugs back..." Goku let out a sad laugh. He remembered how he used to bat away his mothers over affectionate hugs. Now he regrets it. Goku continued talking to his mother as usual. He left after he got a text from his brother to come home. He didn't want to. Goku didn't want Bardock to harass him. Regardless, he went home anyways. It was lady luck's blessing that Bardock was already passed out drunk. Raditz was sitting in the kitchen table in front of stacks of papers, bills perhaps. Goku waved a small greeting to Raditz but before he can escape to his room he was stopped.
"Kakarrot, I need to have a word with you."
Goku's stomach dropped. He didn't get in trouble did he? "Oh, okay..." the younger brother took a seat across from Raditz.
"It's about Mom... I..." Raditz took a deep breath, "I want to know what are we going to do after... after she's gone. What are we gonna do with Dad? You know, all that. I've been trying to figure things out but I'm getting no where."
Raditz's words made Goku a bit angry. It sounded like Raditz was more than ready to send Gine off to the otherworld. "Why are you asking me? I don't have a single clue." Goku rose from his seat, "let's talk later..." he turned away walking off only to be stopped by his older brother. Goku jerked his arm away from Raditz. "Let me go!"
"No! We don't have time-"
"Yes we do! Leave me alone!" Raditz then grabbed both Goku's arms firmly pulling him close. "Haven't you realized it? Mom is leaving tomorrow!"
Goku's eyes widen. The room suddenly became heavy, his legs felt like jello, and his lungs forgot how to breathe. "W-what?" Raditz let Goku go after sitting him down. The younger brother was shaking. He hadn't realized that the time... the deadline was so close. He began to realize the so precious time he had with his mother slipped pass. Goku let out a loud cry of grief. He gripped his hair tightly as uncontrollable sobs escaped him. "No! No no no no no! It's... it's too soon!" Raditz pulled his little brother into a tight embrace. "I know, Kakarrot. I know." Goku cried and cried. God knows how long he was like this. He wasn't ready for this. He thought he could handle the pain, the intensity of the situation. But... in reality Goku was far from prepared.

Time: 6 AM
Hour: 18That night Goku couldn't sleep. So, come morning, Goku felt like shit. He and Raditz went over to the hospital to spend the final hours with their mother, that included Bardock. Though the father was semi-drunk and stayed in a different room. Goku was relieved that at least his father came along. It took a lot of convincing to get Bardock to come. Each family member was given turns to spend time with Gine alone. But in the final hour they were all supposed to be together to send her off to the heavens.
"You can't go through with this! I won't let you!" Bardock yelled blocking the front door. Goku coward behind Raditz as the older brother tried to reason with their drunk father. "Just listen for once! We can't let Mom suffer like this! It's not fair for her or anyone! You have to let her go!" Raditz took a step forward only to recoil back when Bardock tried to take a swing. "You don't understand! I won't let you take her away from me!" The drunken man began to sob collapsing on the floor. He then got on his knees and begged his sons, "I'm begging you don't take her away from me... I love her so much... I'm nothing without her." Goku built up the courage to approach his father. "D-dad..." he kneeled down next to Bardock. "I'm sorry, Dad. We love Mom. We truly do. Will you come with us. I don't think Mom will like that you aren't there." Bardock let out a defeated whimper, and without another word he accompanied his sons to the hospital.
Goku shook away the memory before his eyes settled on his mother. He studied Gine's every feature. He didn't want to forget anything. Goku wanted to make these last few priceless moments worth while. Every memory he had with his mother replayed in his mind. His focus broke when his phone began to ring. He looked at the caller ID to see Vegeta's name. Goku promptly picked up, "h-hey Vegeta..."
"Hi... I wanted to let you know I'm coming to you now. I don't want you to be alone."
Goku sighed, "I don't wanna be either. I'll see you soon."
"I love you, Kakarrot."
Goku let out a little sniffle, "I love you too." His voice cracked. When he hung up he was sobbing. He buried his face into Gine's abdomen. "Mom..." he whimpered, "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry..." Raditz came in to try and console Goku. It took a while before the younger brother was able to calm down.
Time: 9AM
Hour:14Whenever Vegeta came Goku sought comfort from his arms. "It's going to be okay." Vegeta whispered rocking Goku back and forth running his hands through the mess of hair. "B-but what are we gonna do? What's gonna happen when she's gone forever?" Goku shut his eyes trying hard not to imagine the hell that would follow. "I don't know but I know you can do it. You're not alone, baby." Vegeta pressed kisses against Goku's tear streaked face. Goku whimpered leaning more into his boyfriend's affections. "Vegeta, I'm scared..." Goku buried his face in Vegeta's chest. "It's okay... I'm here." The two remained in each other's arms for the longest time. Even when it was Goku's turn to spend time with his mother. He tried to introduce Vegeta but the poor teen ended up breaking.
Time: 3PM
Hour:9It seemed Goku ran out of tears at last. He was leaning against Vegeta in the hospital cafeteria. He picked and nibbled at his food. Vegeta was the once coaxing his lover to eat.
"C'mon, you need to eat something." Vegeta said softly. Goku grabbed his roll taking a small bite. He whimpered wanting to cry again. He managed to eat half the meal on his plate before he shut down. "Let's take a walk around the gardens. Maybe it'll help some." Vegeta guided Goku through the hospital until they reached the gardens. The floura around was gorgeous. Everything was brimming with life and promise. It brought Goku's sprits up some but it was short lived as the beauty around him reminded him of his mother. He tried to hold in his tears. It started as a whimper and a sniffle before it was full on sobbing. Vegeta once again aided his love bringing comfort to him.
Time: 10 PM
Hour: 3At this point Goku was almost in hysteria but he wasn't the only one either. Both Raditz and Bardock were really starting to break down. Time was running out and there wasn't anything that anyone could do.
Goku was holding Gine's hand in own. He was shaking and in cold sweat. Three hours left... three hours before Gine dies. The poor teenager couldn't handle it and constant tears flowed from his eyes. No words of comfort could calm him. No tight embraces or affectionate touches. One thing was stuck on his mind. These are his final moments with Gine. The final moments before she's gone forever.
