Here For You [Goku x Vegeta]

Chapter Five

Goku stood there before Vegeta dumbfounded. His mouth was open and hisn eyes went wide. None of them said anything. They just stared at each other for what felt like forever. Vegeta was the first to break contact and was going to leave.
"Wait."
Goku halted Vegeta before he could disappear into the hospital hallways. "What do you need?" Vegeta's voice was cold and annoyed. It made Goku flinch and wince at the tone. "Um... I..."
"Spit it out already. I got things to do." Vegeta snapped and showed a colder meaner side of him. It made Goku back away some. "W-what are you doing here?" Vegeta narrowed his eyes and his gaze darkened. "That's none of your business. Stick your nose elsewhere." With that the angry teen walked off. It really hurt Goku that his only friend was treating him like this. Then again maybe Vegeta was visiting a very sick family member or something like that. Goku hoped that this cold behavior would end when they went back to school.

The weekend ended and it was once again Monday. Goku was nervous about going back to school since that day in the hospital. He prayed that Vegeta didn't give him the cold shoulder again. Things at home weren't easy either. Raditz barely talks to Goku and completely ignored Bardock. It made the younger brother feel worse. He missed talking to Raditz. He was the only family member that he can actually have a civil conversation. Now the older brother wasn't talking to Goku at all. To Goku it was as if he lost everything. He ignored the pains in his chest from heavy guilt and sadness and walked to school. It rained again and the winds were merciless. Goku didn't care and walked through it all. When he reached to his first class he saw Vegeta next to his desk typing away on his phone. The introverted teen couldn't help but smile clinging to the hope that he hasn't lost everything.
"H-Hey, Vegeta."
Vegeta looked up briefly from his phone and nodded to Goku. That familiar cold gaze was set in his eyes making Goku feel anxious. "Uh... D-Do you know when our next assignment is due?" He tried to start a conversation with Vegeta, but like before the other teen gave him the cold shoulder and ignored him. Goku's heart sank and he looked away from Vegeta. He felt like crying but he refrained from doing so. Why was Vegeta acting like this? Was it because of the stupid party? Because of him? Does Vegeta even want to be friends with him anymore? Goku sighed and got his text books out for his class.

For the rest of the school day Goku was alone again. Vegeta avoided Goku and vice versa. Goku didn't want to be alone this time. He wanted to be around people again. It seemed like the whole world was against Goku. He tried everything to keep his mind off these things but it all ended the same.
When Goku got home nothing has changed. Bardock was drunk and Raditz pretty much ignored him. The memory of what the doctor said to him ran through his mind. Raditz had given up hope of seeing their mother awake again. That same rage build up in Goku's chest. He didn't mention it to Raditz mostly because the older brother was ignoring him. Goku sighed and went to his room where he collapsed on the bed and screamed into his pillows. What did he do to deserve this hell he lives in? He fell asleep at some point waking up to the soft knocking of his door. He glanced back at it before burying his face in the pillows. Another knock followed the one that was ignored. Finally the door opened and it was simply Raditz. Goku hid his head beneath the covers like a scared child would. He felt the bed sink down as Raditz sat on the edge of the bed.
"I received a call today." He spoke in an unusually soft tone. Dead silence followed. "I... I agreed to sign the papers for... for Mom to rest..."
Goku was furious though he kept his silence a little while longer to let his brother continue. "I... we just need you to sign off too. I think it's time to let Mom go. No matter how painful it is we can't let her suffer like this."
Goku sat up abruptly shoving his brother off of his bed angrily. "Shut your mouth! How dare you?! How dare you give up! I told you Mom is gonna wake up!"

"No she isn't Kakarrot! Why can't you understand that?"

"No! You're wrong! I'm not gonna give up! I never will! She just needs more treatment!"

"What more can we give her?! We tried everything to wake her up but she can't!"

"Well we haven't tried hard enough!" Goku watched as his brother shook his head and left his room quietly. He sighed and wiped away the stray tears running down his face. Deep down he knew that there was no hope for his mother. He knew that Gine will never return to them.

A week had passed and it was the same as before. Goku being the loner of his class once again and dealing with the endless misery at home. He was the one to avoid Vegeta this time. When the other teen would try to come in his direction Goku went the other, or when Vegeta would try to talk to Goku the introverted teen would answer in very short sentences or not answer at all.
"Kakarrot, listen can i speak to you for a moment." Vegeta managed to catch Goku when classes ended. "No. I'm busy." Goku tried to go around Vegeta but he was halted once again. "Tch... quit lying to me." The introverted teen turned to face Vegeta. "I'm not. Please leave me alone..."

"Haven't I been doing that for a week?!" Vegeta furrowed his brows crossing his arms. "We need to talk about things going on between us. It's been killing me." Goku looked down at his feet for a moment before turning away. "So you're gonna turn your back on me... as expected from the likes of you." Vegeta's comment made Goku whip around. "The likes of me? What is that supposed to mean?!" Goku got up and personal with Vegeta. Anger and hurt  visible in both sets of eyes. "It means you run from your problems instead of facing them."

"You ran from me when I became a problem." Goku shot back remembering the day Vegeta ignored him after that heated party. Vegeta stayed silent after that comment. Goku took that opportunity to leave. He suddenly felt a strong grip on his hand and he realized it was Vegeta. "Let go of me! It's clear you want nothing to do with me!"
"I'm not done with you! You're not running from me again!" Vegeta looked incredibly pissed it made Goku struggle against the other teen even more. "No more running! Not from me! Not form anybody!" Vegeta yelled his grip becoming painful. Goku managed to jerk his hand away. "What if I want to run!?"

"Then you're nothing more than a coward." Vegeta said coldly. The two stared at each other, hostility between them rising. Goku felt the pressure in the atmosphere rise. He stood his ground with Vegeta anticipating something bad to happen. Much to his surprise they were kissing each other hard before he even knew it. Vegeta led them to one of the school supply closets. They kept hungrily gropping each other's bodies leaving no place uncharted. Goku was pushed back against the wall Vegeta biting and sucking  down his neck. "Vegeta." Goku called softly. "I'm not done with you either."
