Goku left the bathroom a few minutes after Vegeta did. He tried to find the other teen but he was illusive and avoided him. Goku felt horrible about pushing Vegeta away like that but he wasn't ready for that. He just met him! So, why does he feel bad? It's okay to say no, right? Goku sighed running his hands through his spiky hair. Maybe coming to this party was a mistake. Goku quietly slipped away. Avoiding anybody he'd met at the party. He fumbled around with his phone trying to dial Raditz to come pick him up. Goku sighed in frustration as his brother didn't pick up after several calls. He felt the alcohol in his system put his emotions on overdrive, and he angrily threw his phone across the lawn. He heard the screen crack but he didn't care. The intoxicated teen picked up his cracked phone deciding to walk home. Much to his shitty luck cold rain began to fall, soaking him completely. Goku shivered the entire way home. He unlocked the door with shaky cold hands. When he slipped through the door he fell hard on his face. He whimpered and brought himself up on his feet. Goku went straight to his room. In his mind he kept replaying the scene in the bathroom. He liked it a lot and the thought of Vegeta touching him like that exited him. The thing was that he barely knew Vegeta. Goku knew that to have that type of intimacy he needed to find someone he knows well and loves dearly. He pushed away those thoughts and collapsed on his bed, tired, wet, and cold. He didn't bother to change as he didn't have the energy to.
The following Sunday morning Goku woke up feeling feverish and sick to his stomach. He whimpered and curled up in a tight ball. Memories of the previous night were spotty and blurry. All but one and of course it was that moment in the bathroom with Vegeta. Goku felt his face heat up and that same guilt from last night washed over him. He buried his face beneath his pillow letting out a frustrated groan. "I'm such a fucking idiot... idiot... idiot." He mumbled. Much yo his dismay he heard a rather harsh knock at the door. "What?"
"Don't you what me! You're in so much trouble!"
Raditz voice made Goku snap out of it. His stomach dropped as he knew his brother must of found out about the party.
"Open this door, now!"
Goku winced at the tone and reluctantly opened his bedroom door. In came his very angry brother. "Are you out of your mind?! Walking in the cold rain at night?! Not only that you were drunk off your ass!"
Goku gulped as his heart dropped. "Uh... um... I didn't drink okay? The other people there did." Goku lied in hopes his brother would lay off him a bit, but he knew those chances was next to nothing. "Oh really? Then explain the stench of stale beer on your clothes and mouth? Oh even better your broken phone! How dare you lie to me! How dare you go out and get wasted. God damnit Kakarrot you're just a fucking kid! I don't need to deal another drunk! You're grounded." The anger in Raditz was very visible. His face was red and veins popped out of his face and neck. Goku hated that his brother compared him to their dead beat dad. He glared at Raditz but kept his silence and let his brother rant and lecture him. Half the time Goku tuned out his brother. His thoughts drifting off to Vegeta again. He wanted to talk to him but with his phone broken he has no way to contact him. Not only that he doubted that the teen would even talk to him in person. Goku jumped as his door to his room slammed shut. He realized his brother left. Goku could still hear his yelling continue but this time it was at his father.
"You're a bad influence on Kakarrot!""So fucking what? I don't blame him. Not after the shit he's been through."
There was a loud thud and more yelling. It sounded as if Raditz and Bardock were fighting. Goku stayed put knowing better than intervene. He sighed ignoring the yelling and took a quick shower.Later that afternoon Goku went on his daily visit to his mother. He walked in to the familiar hospital and greeted by the same nurses and doctors. When he entered his mother's room he did his usual. Placed a single pink rose next to the other withering ones. Goku didn't say anything. He just looked at his mother with a vacant expression. "Mom..." He only got one word out before he broke down crying. He buried his face in Gine's abdomen wishing a lot of things. "I did some stupid things..." He admitted through his sobs. "Raditz is really mad and tired and Dad is sick and always drunk..." Goku grasped his mother's hand tightly with both his own. "We need you... I need you..." a single memory replayed in his mind again. It was when he made a mistake and his mother spoke to him about it.
Goku sat in the principal's office with bruises and scuffs. He pressed a small ice pack against his aching bruising cheek. The small boy had gotten into a fight with an older kid from a different grade level. It ended with Goku getting pumbled and the older boy suspended. His mother barged in the room with a worried face and she kneeled down to her son's level. "Kakarrot! What did they do to you?" Gine cupped Goku's face earning a small whimper. "They started it!" Goku whined, "they kept making fun of you and I hated it! They don't know you! You're a great Mommy! I... I-"
"Kakarrot... it's okay. Hush." Gine took in a deep breath before continuing. "I understand you got upset but you didn't need to cause any harm to that boy."
"But... but Mommy-"
"I know, I know but sometimes you have to stay calm and let things go." Goku looked down at his feet his cheeks dusted in pink with shame. "I'm sorry, Mommy." Gine made Goku look up at her. The most angelic smile was plastered on her face. "Its okay sweetheart. Mistakes happens but you have to be very careful. Can you promise me you'll be carefull?"
"I promise Mommy."Goku felt his heart wrench as he remembered that promise he made. He broke it again for being reckless. "Mom... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry." Goku's cries were reduced to soft whimpers. He kept his head rested on Gine's abdomen. Quietly listening to her soft shallow breathing and slow heart beat. At one point the young teen dozed off until he was woken up by the doctor.
"Mr.Son, I think you should head home. You seem very tired." She said nudging the sleepy Goku. He whined and shook his head, "oh... uh... sorry. I don't want to leave her yet." He noticed the doctor shake her head and frown. "I actually wanted to speak to you about something very important. I spoken to your brother about it and he seemed to agree. I decided to consult you about the matter."
Goku gave the doctor a questioning look. "What Are you talking about? What did my brother agree to?" His facial expression grew more concerned and anxious.
"Well... it's been 15 years since your mother's accident. She hasn't woken up and doesn't show signs of ever waking up. I spoke to your brother and he agreed it was time to... to let your mother go."
Those words slammed Goku hard. A mix of emotions swarmed inside his chest. "W-what? Let her go? You mean... kill her?" Anger and sadness finally set. "NO! I DON'T AGREE WITH THAT!!!" Goku screamed angrily. He got nose to nose with the doctor. "Don't you dare... don't ever bring that up again! She will wake up! She will! Get out of my face! If you won't help her I'll find a different doctor that would!" The doctor sighed and shook her head once more before leaving. Goku cooled down after a moment or two. All was left was a cold empty feeling in his chest. It hurt him to learn that his brother truly gave up. Goku stayed by his mother until late at night. He kissed his mom goodnight and left the hospital. As he was walking out he ran into the person he least expected. It was Vegeta.A/N
