Chapter 9

TW* bullying and cussing

I grabbed my binder and stood up as the bell rang. I walked out the door with all the other students and headed down the hall to my locker. Harry ran up to me as I got to my it. "Hey" I said as I unlocked it. "Hey, so do you wanna sleep over at my house tonight?" He said excitedly. "Sure, sounds fun" I said as I looked at him and smiled before getting my books out of my locker. "Yay!" Harry said happily , he was practically bouncing with joy. It was cute,he was so cute when he was happy. "What time do you want me to be over there?" I asked as I shut my locker and turned to face him. "Oh just after school and after you get your stuff from your house" he said as he smiled. "Alright" I said and he grinned. "Oh yeah and can you see if Alex can come?" Harry asked just as I started too leave. "Sure" I called back to him then turned around and walked to my next class. Ugh math.

I was about to walk into the class room when someone walked up behind me. I turned around and saw Amelia, she was wearing my purple shirt. "What?" I said rudely. "I- I wanted to tell you that... I'm so sorry for everything!" She cried as she tried to step towards me and I held up my hand to stop her. "And why do expect me to believe you?" I scoffed as I stared at her. "you're right, I've been horrible to you. I understand why you don't believe me, you can be mad for as long as you want. I just wanted to say that I realized it awful and wrong to hurt people just because of who they are and I regret everything I did to you" she said quietly before turning around and walking away. What just happened? I was going to stop her but I couldn't bring myself to. She had to be lying, right? I shook my head to focus myself. I walked into the class room and sat down at my desk.

I barely even paid attention to the lesson, I kept thinking about what Amelia said. She had to be lying. Why would she lie like that?
The sound of the bell made me jump and I pushed my thoughts away and stood up.

I walked down an empty hallway when I turned the corner as saw nate and Amelia. I gasped and backed up. I looked around the corner and saw them talking. "Its wrong nate, love isn't just about gender it's about what's on the inside" Amelia said and Nate scoffed. "Are you serious?" He said, disinterested. "Yes! I apologized to Lily but she didn't believe me and I don't blame her. After what we did to her..." she said as she closed her eyes and shook her head. She looked so ashamed. "We really hurt her nate, I don't hate her. I regret what I did, do you?" Nate just stared at her, " I- I don't
k-know" he stuttered. Amelia sighed and looked at him like she was disappointed. She turned and started to walk away. She was walking right towards me. I panicked as I ran down the hall and into the first room I came too. I shut the door and turned around, thankfully it was an empty classroom. I sighed in relief and slid my back down the door until I was on the floor. "What the hell just happened?!" I yelled to myself. I gasped and covered my mouth. I waited for a moment and calmed down. "Shh calm down Lily it's ok" I whispered to myself as my breathing became louder. Ok so Amelia was telling the truth. But the fact that she apologized doesn't change what she did. We weren't friends. We never were.

I took a few deep breaths and slowly opened the door. I looked around to make sure nobody was there before stepping out into the hall. I sighed and started to walk down the hall. I heard a shoe squeak and I quickly whipped my head around but there was nobody there. I shrugged and turned to continue down the hall. As soon as I turned around nate was right in front me. I gasped and stepped backwards. He growled and lunged towards me and shoved me, making me fall on the floor. "You think you can get away with trying to take my girlfriend away from me!?" He said as he stared at me angrily as I sat on the ground, to afraid to get up. "What are you talking about?" I asked quietly. "You know exactly what the fuck I'm talking about!" I gasped as he yelled and stepped towards me. I wasn't gonna let him treat me like this, I pushed myself up and faced him. "Nobody will ever love you" he said quietly and angrily, he was only a few inches away from my face. I snickered, "I wonder why I have a girlfriend then" I retorted. Nate looked surprised for a split second but before I could even realize it he punched me in the stomach and I yelled out in pain as I sank to the floor, holding my stomach. I looked up and saw him walking away. That bitch. I groaned as I tried to stand up. "Oww" I winced when I got up and clutched my stomach. "Come on Lily, you've had cramps worse than this" I whispered to myself, trying to make it seem like no big deal. I stood there for a few minutes and it started to feel better. I walked down the hall, towards the cafeteria because I really didn't wanna miss lunch again.

I slowly opened the doors to the cafeteria and it seemed like the whole school was staring at me. I did my best to ignore it as I went and got my food. I picked up the tray and started to walk over to a table in the corner. I felt someone push me and I fell forward, dropping my tray. "What the hell?!" I said as I turned around and faced the person who pushed me. It was the boy who had hurt Harry a few days ago,that bitch. "Little gay bitch, where's the other faggot huh? He to scared to show his face?" he laughed as he stepped on my foot and held his hands out to push me again. I grabbed his wrist and twisted it backwards as he screamed. I heard scattered gasps and whispers from throughout the cafeteria. "Don't fucking touch me again, bitch" I growled before and let go of his hand and shoved him to the ground. "Alright, damn she's a feisty one" he laughed as he stood up. I growled and without even thinking I punched him and blood dripped from his nose as he fell back. I scoffed before running past him and to the doors. I ran out into the hall and towards the bathroom. Why did I do that? I asked myself, thinking about what an idiot I was. "That little shit deserved it" I said aloud as I laughed. It was self defense, yeahh definitely. I opened the door as I got to the bathroom and walked over to the sink and started too wash my hands as the door swung shut. "I saw what you did" I heard a voice say and my head shot up. I looked over and saw Amelia standing in the doorway. "that little shit deserved it" she said as she laughed. Huh that's what I said. I grabbed some paper towels and dried my hands. "Yeah wouldn't you know" I scoffed. "What are you talking about?" She asked as she shut the door walked closer to me. "oh you know, how your precious boyfriend punched me in the damn stomach!" I shouted at her as I stepped towards her. "What?" She gasped as if she hadn't known. I looked at her with and annoyed expression. I didn't feel like putting up with her crap. I stomped past her and purposefully hit her shoulder as I walked out the door. Damn, what did I do to deserve all this crap that happens to me?

I sighed and fell back onto harry's bed and closed my eyes. "I heard you made quite the scene at lunch today, I'm surprised you didn't get detention" I heard him say as he say next to me. "Yeah me too" I said quietly. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked softly and I just shook my head. "Alright" he whispered at laid down next to me. We laid there for about five minutes, just looking at the ceiling when I heard Alex's voice downstairs. I quickly sat up as I smiled. I jumped off the bed and ran out the bedroom and down the stairs. "Hey Lily" she said with a smile as I went over to her and hugged her. I held her close to me as I kissed her cheek and then pulled away from her. "Come on, Harry's upstairs" I said as I grabbed her hand and started to pull her towards the stairs. She laughed and followed me up the stairs. We walked down the hall to Harry's room but he wasn't there. "Where's harry?" Alex asked as she sat on the beanbag chair in the corner. I shrugged and sat on the bed. As soon as I sat down Harry walked in with two rolled up sleeping bags and some pillows. "Here ya go" he said as he tossed them to me and I moved out of the way so they landed on the bed. He laughed and then turned and waved to Alex and she said "hey" back. "So do you guys want some snacks or drinks or something?" He asked as he leaned against the door frame. "No it's ok, hey do you have any board games?" I asked. "oh yeah lots, come on" he said as he turned around and left. Alex and I got up and followed him down the hall. He stopped and opened a door, it was a closet that had tons of board games and movies in it. "Cool" Alex and I said at the same time as I looked over all the games and movies. "What do y'all wanna play?" Harry asked as he let us look through the closet. There was a lot of choices. "Monopoly?" I said as I looked at Alex and Harry. They both nodded and I grabbed the box and shut the door.

"Nooo" I groaned as I realized I had to pay Alex a ton of money. She laughed and held out her hand. I counted the money and reluctantly gave it to her. I pouted as Harry started his turn. "Anddd.. I'm in jail" he said as he moved his piece to the jail space. I giggled and waited as Alex got through her turn. "Damn, guess I owe you money now" she said as she landed on a space that I owned. I smugly smiled at her and held out my hand. She handed me and the money then grabbed my hand and kissed it. I giggled and pulled my hand away as she smiled at me. "Y'all are cute as hell" Harry laughed. I blushed and looked at Alex to see that she was fondly smiling at me. I smiled at her and started my turn. "Hmm, ok I'm gonna but this then put a house on that other one" I decided and gave the money to Harry who put it in the bank and he gave me the card. "Ok my turn, since Harry is in jail" Alex said as she grabbed the dice. She rolled and landed on the free parking space that had a couple hundred dollars on it. "Ha! Yes!" She exclaimed as she grabbed the money and smiled. "Good job baby" i said as I leaned over and kissed her. "Alright you two" Harry said as he laughed and I pulled away from her. I blushed and sat back in my spot next to alex. Harry laughed again and sat criss cross with his hands in his lap. "Come on let's keep playing"
