Chapter 13

Tw* cussing/slurs, cyber bullying  and mentions of s*icide

"Are you sure?" Alex asked me, concerned.
"Kind of" I grabbed Alex's hand and she turned the knob and slowly opened the door. I took a deep, trembling breath and followed Alex inside.
"Mom?" I said meekly as I wrapped my arms around alex. I clung to her as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I recognized my mom's figure and slightly relaxed. She was in a blue bathrobe and  her dark hair was up in a messy bun. "Lily?" She gasped and walked up to me and I let go of alex. "I'm sorry I left" I whispered as I looked down on my feet. I gasped as my mom stepped forward and hugged me. "Don't apologize, he's not here" she said as she let go of me. A wave of relief swept over me and I looked back at Alex and smiled. "I don't wanna know why he was here" I said quietly. I think I already know.  I thought to myself My mom nodded her head and turned to Alex. "Thank you sweetie" she hugged her and I shrugged as Alex looked at me and raised her eyebrow. She pulled away from my mom and walked over to me. "Can Alex stay for a little bit?!" I blurted out my unspoken thoughts. My mom immediately nodded, "of course". I hugged Alex and I heard her thank my mom.

I sighed as Alex and I jumped back onto my bed while we held hands. We looked at each other and giggled.  "You're so cute" I stopped laughing for a second to admire her. Alex turned away from me and blushed, which I found absolutely adorable.

I jumped as I heard a notification from my phone. I sat up and saw it on my desk, my mom must have brought it up there.  I let of Alex's hand and got off of the bed.  Alex sat up and watched me walk over to the desk.

"You fucking faggot"

A froze as I saw the text from an unknown number.  My chest felt heavy and i felt a single tear run down my cheek.  I quickly wiped it away and deleted the message.

"Go kill yourself"
"You're such a freak"
"I can fix you"
"Wtf is wrong with you?!!"

"No" I softly whispered as the phone slipped out of my hand and hit the floor as i sank to my knees. My eyes stung and tears started falling no matter how hard  I tried to make them stop.

"Lily!?"  I heard Alex get up and run over to me. I closed my eyes and I heard her gasp as I fell back onto the floor. "Hey lily, it's ok" I kept my eyes closed my i felt her arms wrap around my waist as she pulled me into her lap.  I felt her hand graze across my face as she wiped my tears away.  I slowly let my eyes open and saw her staring at me with nothing but concern on her face. I couldn't let her know about the messages, she had already dealt with me having a panic attack that day.

She supported my head as she leaned over to pick up my phone.

"No!"  I screamed as shot up and tried to take it from her.
Her face darkened as she looked at the screen and gasped. "Who is this?!" She turned to me and I jumped back, I had never seen her so furious and I was scared. "I don't k-know" I stuttered as I tried to scoot away from her.

She growled as another notification popped up. Her eyes ran over it.

She screamed and stood up. 

"I'm gonna fucking kill Amelia!!" She shouted and she stomped towards the door. "No!" I shot forward and grabbed her ankle. She glanced down at me and something must have shifted inside her because she stopped. She gasped as she understood how scared I was.

She slowly kneeled down and I let go of her ankle and backed up. She sat down on the floor and hung her head. "Alex?" I whispered as I scooted towards her.

She lifted her head and I saw that her eyes were filled with tears and her cheeks were soaked with them. "I'm so sorry" she choked out.
I threw my self on her and wrapped my arms around her, I hugged her as tightly as I could and laid my head on her shoulder until I felt her relax. 

I heard her mumble something and I let go of her and sat back to look at her. "Hm?" I tilted my head and she turned away from me. I ran my had over her cheek and turned her head to me. I gave her a reassuring smile and she sniffled and ran her sleeve over her eyes.  "Don't" she whispered. I was confused, "Don't what?" I asked softly

"Don't kill yourself" she hesitated for a second, "I can't, not again" she lowered her head and I immediately understood.  I moved so I sitting next to her and gently pulled her head into my lap so she was looking up at me.
"I won't, I promise" I whispered as I moved a strand of hair out of her eyes.  She grabbed my hand and sadly smiled.

"I miss him so much" her voice started shaking as she started to cry again. I lifted her head up and touched her forehead to mine.  She shifted so that I wasn't holding all her weight and then moved her head away from me. She cupped my face in her hands and I leaned down a little to let her kiss my forehead.  She closed her eyes and laid her head on my shoulder.
I put both of  my arms around her and tried to get as close to her as I could.

"I love you so much Alex, I'm never leaving" I said as I closed my eyes. 

"I know"
