His pedestal was the ruins of his base, his ovation the cries of his mates, and his medals were the corpses of half his squad.

He arrived late to the stage and performed poorly, and these were the prizes bestowed to him.
The man left his base defenseless against the passed terror, and the loss of many were the prices he had paid.

In times like these, a person who's power stands tall above rest would arrive to save the day. They're the shining beacon of hope whose light inspires young minds, and warms or lights the fire in everyone's souls. Such unfortunate souls were Yuno and his comrades, for that said person was taken captive by a man who's powers easily exceeds the most powerful of wizards.

William was gone. He was taken away by someone whose mana well reached the depths of hell itself. Despite Bell's efforts of helping him.. despite the amount of time he's spent honing his prowess, he couldn't hold a candle against him.

He couldn't do anything to prevent this incoming tragedy. He couldn't, at the very least, stall his enemy long enough for backup to come and assist him. He couldn't even maintain one part of the wrecked place safe and well. Everything was in shambles.

But the one thing that haunted his scattered mind was the fact that he couldn't save anyone. Golden Dawn's Vice Captain couldn't save anyone. A Magic Knight couldn't save anyone.

Yuno.. couldn't save anyone.

At this time of weakness, the feeling he knew all too well casted a dim, sad, yet strong glow inside him. The flame was rotting his spirit, melting his pride, hope and honor slowly and painfully. The sickeningly, nostalgic feeling of being helpless and worthless from when he was a child was back.

And after all he did and went through to make sure that he wouldn't be this pathetic, ever again..

Damn... it.

The image of the devil host flashed before his eyes, the sight of him furrowing his brows weakly.

I'll make sure that fucker pays.

"Good morning, crew!"

The knights from separate squads all craned their heads towards the sudden appearance of what seemed like a foreigner. Some recognized the multi-colored haori, and those who did saluted and greeted the jolly person. Those who didn't pulled confused looks, but greeted back with uncertainty when they saw that a few seemed to know the person as someone treated with utmost respect.

There was a reason why almost none performed the Magic Knight's salute. Reason number one was because of their short stature. If they were to estimate their height, it would probably be 5'3"!
Second and last, the majority of them were nobles and royals. With the use of their heightened sense of feeling the amounts of mana, they found out that the mana inside them was faint. Their was a high chance that they were just some advisor, or medic.. They were almost sure that this person wasn't a Magic Knight.
