"[y/...n]?"

The said child gasped at the sudden call, their head sharply turning towards the direction of the voice. They sighed in relief when it was just their friend, who silently walked and made the one foot gap between them shorter, and shorter at each step.

"Yuno.." Their soft whisper rode on the winds. "You're a bit late."

That was a lie. He was an hour late.

"Where's Asta?" [y/n] rose a brow towards Yuno who panted like he sprinted all the way to their house that was on the other side of his village, which he did.

"Asta's sick.. I needed to stay by his side to make sure he's alright." The boy stated between pants, taking a seat next to his friend who had their back laid on a tree's trunk. "That was nice of you, Yuno. Very magic knight.. -ly."

"But I was late.. and it's only minutes 'till your parent calls you back inside." [y/n] caught sight of his frown, weakly shaking their head in disagreement. "You can't be everywhere at the same time, Yuno."

"I wish I could split myself in half"

"Yes, if you can, you definitely will. But there are some things that your left hand can do that you're right cannot, and vice versa.

Also, it'd be weird if I saw half of you walking towards me." [y/n] shivered at the image inside their head, while Yuno only nodded and smiled.

"So.. what do you wanna play, Yuno?"

"I don't feel like playing.. I'm tired."

"Then what should we do?" [y/n] pondered. "not to say you're boring, but things are quite dull without Asta."

"Don't worry, I agree with you.. He's loud, but entertaining." The two kids chuckled at Yuno's fact, the thought of Asta's grumpy face as if he'd heard his brother's statement making Yuno smile.

Whilst Yuno thought about the blonde, [y/n] thought about their next words. They had something to say in mind, but their voice didn't want to offer it's help to say them. Yuno's thought earlier about wanting to split himself in half reminded them of their aunt that also had the same crisis. She, also wanted to split herself in half once, and maybe what happened next would enlighten Yuno.

Well.. better say something than nothing. And then began their story.

"Do you... want to hear a story about my aunt?" Well- then began their story.

Yuno immediately sat up at the mention of their aunt. "Yes please!" He eagerly asked. He wanted to know more about this magic knight, for he aspired to be one.

[y/n] sighed in relief, thankful that he didn't decline their offer. "Well, she used to have the same thoughts as you. As a kid, all she wanted was to stand next to magic knights in the battlefield. But when she had finally achieved that goal, my parent needed her support more than ever. She was troubled. Should she just abandon her dream to stay with her relative, or abandon them in order to continue on her path that she had worked so hard to walk on?"

Yuno was able to sympathize with their aunt, though his problem was a lighter matter. He understood what that felt. Yuno loved his brother, but he loved his friend too. His best friends were both dear to him, like how [y/n]'s aunt's dream and relative were to her.
