Unexpected// Calum Hood

Chapter 12

Delilah's POV

After school I was so excited! Calum just asked me on a date! I walked into my house then immediately ran into my bedroom. I turned on My music playlist to listen to while I did my homework. I started on my homework
*2 hours later*
I had just finished my homework when all the sudden my phone buzzes. I picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Well hello Delilah, this is Cal, but I'm sure you saw that from the caller id. I wanted to give you the details on our date!" Calum said excitedly

"Okay" I said, smiling.

"So, I can't tell you where, but how does Friday work for you?" He asked

"As long as your not taking me to a party on our date, I'll be fine with that" I laughed

"Okay see Ya tomorrow! Byee" he said

"Byeee see Ya tomorrow" I replied

He quickly said into the phone,"love you" then immediately hung up

Calum's POV

I woke up, it's Tuesday morning. I just want it to be Friday already!! All of the sudden my phone rings. I get up groggily and pick it up off of my night stand.

"Hello?" I say confused at the number

"Hello, this is an automatic recording. We have called to tell you some very import-" I clicked the phone and hung up

"Stupid machines" I mumbled to myself

I got up and got all ready to go to school. I put on a gray muscle shirt and a gray beanie (media). I added a little white jacket just incase I got cold in class. I mean it is the middle of winter.
I didn't really feel like driving today so I decided to wait for the bus. About 15 minutes passed and the bus wasn't there. I went into my bag, got my keys, and walked back to my car. I started to drive on the way to school. There was snow on the ground and it was freezing outside. I finally got to school. I found it a little odd that there was barely anybody there.. Who am I kidding ALOT Odd. I walk up to the school doors, locked. Then all the sudden I look up the school website to see what's going on

It reads, "due to inclement weather conditions school is cancelled on Tuesday January 25. Your phones have been notified"

I rolled my eyes and drove back home. I immediately jumped right back in bed. I dozed off quickly, besides the fact that I was kind of disappointed I woke up for nothing.

Delilah's POV

I was so happy that I got to sleep in this morning! Only 3 more days until my date with Calum and I'm so nervous.

*time skip 3 days*
The past 2 days had been snow days but, I've was with Calum for Both We've been hanging out watching Netflix and my mother kept embarrassing the hell out of me, but that's what mothers are for. Today we do not have school either so I laid back down. I got back up at around noon and jumped in the shower. I then got out and made breakfast. I face timed luke.

Luke: woah someone's looking like a supermodel this morning *chuckle*

Me: oh shush, so you know how cal and I are---

Luke: making babies

Me: you really are an ass

Luke: *giggles* yeah I know about your date, he can't stop talking about it.. All I'm gonna say is dress nice

Me: ok *huge grin* I got to go biya

I hung up with Luke and was watching Netflix. Time flew and it was all the sudden 5:00. Cal was picking me up at 7. I started to get ready. I curled my hair. I walked into my closet to find a nice outfit. I found a turquoise dress with a white lace overlay. I put on white flats with it. I brushed my teeth and did my hair. It was now 6:45. Dammit. I waited downstairs and all the sudden my doorbell rang. A knot twisted in my stomach. I answered the door. Calum had a nice white button down on and an actual pair of slacks, which I was shocked because The boy practically lives in skinny jeans.

"So M'lady, are you ready to go?" Calum said calmly

I chuckled, "of course my sir"

We walked out of my house and I asked where we are going. He told me it was a surprise. After about an hour and fifteen minutes of driving I start getting scared. What if he's taking me to be hurt or he's some weirdo that's into to teenage girls. Okay, I might be overreacting just a little bit. I start to see a bridge. We ride over the bridge and I see water. Calum parks the car near some dock. He comes to my door and opens is up for me. He takes my hand and we start walking. He takes me to a dock and we walk up the stairs to get into a boat. We get seated by the nicest waiters and we have a simply incredible view. The waiters ask us what we would like to drink.

"I would like some champagne please" I said

"You shouldn't get champagne" Calum said

"Why?" I questioned

"That's underage drinking and I don't want you to damage your body" he says and smiles

"It's not gonna hurt me its champagne" I said giggling

"It is still an alcoholic beverage and I just care about you and don't want to see you hurt, drunk, or sick" he said nicely

"Fine, I'll take a lemonade" I said laughing

"I'll take a champagne" he glanced at me as I glare "just kidding, make that two lemonades" he grinned so huge.

The night primarily was amazing. We had the deepest talks and it was incredible. After that we sat on a bench on the dock and watched the stars. It was freezing outside. Calum and I were now staring at each other. He took a piece of my hair and put it behind my ear. He leaned in and our lips touched. As I was kissing him it didn't feel like any other time I kissed someone. I've kissed plenty of guys including my best friend Luke and it has never felt as magical as right now. I think I'm falling for Calum. We start to head home. The night couldn't be any more perfect. Calum pulls up in my drive way. He gets out to open my door for me. I could practically feel my mothers glare out the window. He walks me up to the door.

"Tonight was amazing Calum, thank you so much." I said softly

"No, thank you." He smiled

"Well bye!" I said

"Woah, I'm not the type of guy to drop off a girl at her house and not speak to the parental figure." He said

"Oh my gosh" I laughed

He firmly knocked on the door. My mother answered it.

"Well hello Ms. M-" he said before being cut-off

"For the fiftieth time Calum, you can call me Ashley." My mother giggled

"I would like to say thank you for letting me take your beautiful daughter out to dinner." He said and glanced over at the huge grin on my face. "I have to get going but have an incredible night, all of you.

He gave me a hug and walked over to his gorgeous car. I closed the door and as my mother smiled at me.

"He is a very nice young man. If you don't marry him, I will!" She said

I laughed and rolled my eyes. I went upstairs to prepare for bed. I clicked on my television and turned to the show friends which I've already watched several times. I turned it off before actually falling asleep. I was thinking about what happened tonight

And I said to myself, "Well this was, unexpected" and I dozed off.
