Chapter five

Jackies P.O.V

A mont had passed and summer was approaching, mother had prepared everything for me and Alex to leave- tomorrow. I'm a little over a month pregnant now and the morning sickness has now only been happening like God intended and not every second i'm awake, this baby is more like a virus inside me and i can't wait for this to be over. I've also decided that I'd stay in this little town called Xenix for a while if things go right and i get a stable job somehow, I'll stay there for a few years while Alex does his school then when he graduates maybe I'll leave but.... I don't know, this whole thing is just a mess but it'll be over once i give birth and give it away...hopefully.

"Okay Alex, do you have all your stuff? You don't need much" I said to my brother as i threw my duffel bag over m shoulder and proceeded to get m other suitcase, we were traveling by train and there isn't much space on a train for lots of luggage so we had to Carr light.

"Yeah, I've got everything I need....are we going to travel far away? What about mom?" He pouted, i sighed and put back down my bags to hug him. "We have to go far so dad won't find us and mother will be fine....I promise" I rubbed his back, he nodded and we separated and headed out. 

As we got in the car and it drove away I couldn't help but look back at my house and watch the huge mansion disappear in the distance, i sighed and looked forward seeing Andres house up ahead i placed m hand on m stanch and rub my thumb in little circles on top my my baby bump; maybe in the future I'll tell him about the kid and he can look for her if he wants.

When we got on the train Alex quickly fell asleep for the whole ride there so i had some time to just think in silence, i thought about what I'll tell him once i started to show...what if he has a negative reaction? At this point i wouldn't e able to take the rejection from my brother,right now he's the only family i have near me so if he were to see me for the monster i was.....I don't think i'd handle it very well.

Eventually i fall asleep also, that being the calmest sleep I've had in the past few weeks. Alex woke me up when the train got to where we needed to be, i groaned as i was deep in sleep but got up anyway and got off the train. As soon as we stepped out of the train station the class difference shocked me, there was people selling stuff right outside the train station and there was the smell of the fish market nearby that made me sick.

"Let's hurry up and find the apartment" I said to Alex and he agreed, unlike me he didn't mind it and seemed to find it fascinating and 'different'. We walked around for about 20 minutes and finally found our new 'home' after getting a bit lost, it was actually a basement apartment that had only one window. I had gotten this because it's cheaper and i didn't know if I'll be able to get a job because of my 'condition'.

"It's......different?" Alex forced a smile, i sigh and shook my head; putting down my bags and check out the bathroom. The bathroom was okay and clean enough and the water was not murky, surprisingly.

"It's only temporary, until i find a job and the we move into an bigger apartment" i sighed as i closed the bathroom door, looking around the room and picking which room would be mine, left or right and I went with the left because nobody ever treated me right. We both went into the room we choose and i set out my stuff and started looking through the local news paper for job ads. I cancelled out job i wouldn't be able to do like construction, fishing, teaching, cleaner and Usher. I felt hopeless until i found one ad that was looking for young pâtissier's and i took down the number to call it.

"Hello? This is Calvin's bakery, how may I help you?" After a few rings a woman answered the phone and i took  deep breath, putting on my soft tone voice.

"Hello, my name is Jackie Kim and i'm calling because i was your ad in the news paper and i saw that your looking for young pâtissier's?" i said, practicing my smile as well as the voice.

"Ahhh yes! Thank you for calling Jackie, are you available to come in for an interview tomorrow at 3pm?" The woman's voice seemed more cheery as she heard that i called for the job.

"Yes That would be perfect" I smiled behind the phone, my mind being at easy a bit knowing that I at least have a interview tomorrow, but it might not go well because of how young I am. The woman gave me the address and told me to tell the casher that I'm there for and who they'll take me to, the owner- Calvin McClain for the interview. I came out of the room and Alex came out at the same time, with an annoyed look on his face.

"What's with the annoyed look? Missing your boyfriend?" i teased him a little, his face flushed red as he stuttered.

"What are you t-talking about? I look like this because it's so hot in my room, there's no window." He avoided my gaze and dropped down in the middle of the empty floor, i smile and lay down next to him. "I got a job interview for tomorrow" I said softly, he quickly whipped his head towards my direction.

"Really? Oh god that's good!" he said excitedly, giggling and spreading his arms wide. I chuckled and looked up at the ceiling, "don't get too exited, it's just an interview" My smile fadded a bit, i heard him sight loudly.

"don't be such a mood killer, the interview will go fine! What is the job for?" he said, putting his hands over his head.

"To pay the bills???" i answered confused, what did he think i was getting the job for? Experience?

"That's not what i meant shithead, you're a fucking idiot- i meant what does the job require you to do?" He said annoyed, i turn around and started strangling him. "How dare you swear at your brother, do you wanna die huh?" i said as i tightened m grip around his neck, he scratched at my arm in an attempt to set himself free but it was until he licked my forearm is when i let him, cursing as he quickly got up and ran into his room.
