Benny's POV I went to bed really early that night so I was prepared for the game the next day I was confident and I hope everyone else was too. After a few minutes of me trying to sleep I couldn't so I walked to my window and looked into Jasmin's room she was at her desk writing in a book probably her diary or something I just stared at her not in a creepy way but admired all her beautiful features she was definitely the most beautiful girl I have ever seen and I was hoping that she could someday be mi ángel mi esperanza and mi alegría. These were things I started thinking about when I found out I liked her, don't get me wrong I still thought about baseball and my future in baseball but she was my new dream mi futura. Jasmin's POV I start writing in my journal about today's events and about Benny of course I look out of window and saw him staring out in the sky just thinking it was almost 9 so I called it a night usually I go to bed around 10 but tonight I wanted to go to bed early for tomorrow's game. As I crawled into bed I thought about my new life about my new friends and Benny. Kate,Scarlett, and Samantha already knew that I liked Benny and they were sure he liked me too but I wasn't sure he probably liked a girl who knew how to impress and dress ladylike that definitely wasn't me. I knew how to put make up on and have style but I sure wasn't ladylike in a way I acted tomboyish but dressed like a girl and by that I mean crop tops and boyfriend jeans with converse. I go right to bed dreaming about life and how it already changed so much. No ones POV Today was the day of the game, July 2nd 1988 Benny Rodriguez was planning on telling Jasmin he liked her on July 4th right when the fireworks went off. Of course yeah yeah didn't know if he should tell Kate or not so he decided to wait a couple of months. Samantha and Squints were doing good like always they would go and waste they money on soda and mentos just to make a soda fountain and laugh and have a good time together. Chris met a girl named Wendy Peffercorn and now they are dating, the rest of the sandlot boys and Scarlett are single but fine with it they think it's great to be single and they want to keep it that way for a while. Jasmin's POV Today I woke up around 10 to give my self some rest I got dressed and didn't some make-up until I heard a tap on my window I opened it up and Benny happened to be there I lifted him up and into my room "What's up?" I said Well me and the rest of the group if you wanted to come practice he said I seemed nervous I could tell cause I was staring at the ground scratching his neck "Sure let me go get my glove I'll meet you outside in 5" with that I ran downstairs grabbed my glove and kissed my mom goodbye " be safe love you cariño" and then I was free and ready to beat some Phillips ass. Scarlett's POV We got to the field and saw Phillips team practicing we were fine with it cause we practiced for two hours anyway, I saw girls and boys sitting on the fence or ground who were going to watch the game then I caught eyes with the most beautiful girl I have ever seen I immediately had a crush on her. I was a little early so I decided to go make small talk with her she looked alone so I walked over, Hey in Scarlett Wells who are you I've never seen you before? I said Oh I'm Amber Jones I moved here about 4 months ago but I really don't get out much only when I'm playing baseball but I don't have anyone to play with she said she had a very calm voice which I liked, Well maybe you can play with my team tomorrow it depends on if we win or lose cause my friend Benny will take it here if you lose I start to laugh she did too I saw the rest of the team coming so I said goodbye and told her to cheer us on she immediately said she would and I walked away happier than a flying duck. No one's POV (Just a random kid talking) ALRIGHT FOLKS ITS A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN SALT LAKE CITY UTAH AND WE DECIDED TO PLAY SOME BALL.... Amber quickly told him to shut up and he walked back to the fence quietly then the game started Benny was first to bat and of course Phillips was pitching ugh rivals anyways Benny made a quick home run and it started with Kenny batting then Jasmin then Ham and the list went on and on until finally The sandlot team won of course. Benny's POV (July 4th 1988) The boys were helping me with asking Jasmin out and everything so I wasn't the only one doing it alone we decided to tell the girls except Jasmin about the plan they were really excited we told them that we were going to play baseball that night but we weren't we usually did but tonight I wanted to be special so we told them to take Jasmin to the sandlot at 6pm sharp then me and the boys did the rest. I already knew her favorite song (Put your head on my shoulder) so I put that in a record player we laid blankets down so we could watch the fireworks everything was perfect all we needed was Jasmin to say yes and tonight would/will be perfect. Jasmin's POV As I got ready for tonight's came I saw the girls barge in my room with dresses on hey... I said what's with the dresses I chuckled oh we just thought they would be cute for Fourth of July and we want you to wear one too because then we can be quadruplets Samantha said ok just go wait in the living room and I'll be there in a second I put a cute red dress on with some lipstick and eyeliner. I ran downstairs and we headed out I didn't know what was coming but I was excited.
