Chapter 34- The Rightful Thrown

"What are we doing here?" Izumi asked.

"I have a surprise." Rei said.

"That's terrifying coming from you." Izumi said.

"One of these days I'm going to kill you." Rei said irritated by Izumi's words.

"Before I reveal it, we need to decide what to do with her." Rei said as the guards brought Darlene out.

"Hand her over to the police?" Max suggested.

"Burn her alive." Rei said.

"No, she's still my grandmother, and burning her alive is just plain cruel." Alice said to Rei. He shrugged. He thought it was a good idea.

"No need for anything." a woman's voice said. They all turned around and looked at the woman standing next to Darlene.

"You were supposed to wait until I told them, mistress." Rei said.

"Mom?" Alice asked shocked as they all stared at Sophia. Sophia immediately ran over to Alice and hugged her. Her daughter was a woman now, and not the small child she knew.

"How touching." Rei said with sarcasm.

"Don't ruin the moment." Violet said waving a hand at him to show him to go away.

"Who let you out?" Darlene asked angrily. Sophia turned to Darlene.

"Mother, you have lied to this family and killed innocent lives including my husband's." Sophia said.

"Under the law of the Carow family codex in article 7, it states that anyone who convicts crime, like lying, stealing something important, murdering and using their position to their advantage shall be punished. If those of royal family are to be guilty of a crime, they will be excused of their position and locked up." Sophia said. Everyone was shocked at how good Sophia memorized the article. It was no wonder she was the previous head and everything went down south when she "died".

"Woah." Violet said.

"Spread the news." Sophia told the servants. They immediately headed out to spread the news. Sophia turned to the rest.

"I would like to apologize to you all for everything she caused. I would do anything to make it up to you all." Sophia said.

"There's no need." Rina said.

"You kidding me?" Izumi growled quietly. Out of everyone, he was the most upset about it all. Did they expect him to just forgive and forget? Violet heard his frustrations next to her and stared at him.

"Izumi?" she asked.

"I see. You don't have to answer immediately. I still am sorry. I will be taking the position of the head and I will make sure the misunderstanding between you and the people will be solved." Sophia said.

"Then we will be leaving if you don't mind." Rei said.

"Not at all. But I would like to offer an award to you Rei. If it wasn't for your actions, then I wouldn't be here and the family would have fallen apart. I could use you in the guard unity." Sophia said.

"I'll think about it." Rei said as he left with the others. They headed down the mountain. Jaxon pulled Izumi further back to talk to him.

"What?" Izumi asked.

"I... Have a question." he said.

"Alright?"

"How do you feel when you're around Violet?" he asked.

"What?" Izumi asked in confusion.

"What I'm asking is, how does love feel?" Jaxon asked.

"You are so weird." Izumi said. Jaxon stared at him, waiting for an answer.

"Well," Izumi sighed. "I guess, I get this warm feeling. She's always on my mind, and I worry way too much about her. I always want to see her smile more and I want her to be happy."

Jaxon nodded. He didn't feel that around Violet. She gave him a warm feeling, but more the feeling of comfort. She is like a mother to him. He remembered seeing Maya smile. Was that love? Love had so many forms and it confused him. Maya's smile made him happy. He didn't know much about her, but she seemed like a strong person. She always was there for Violet and was loyal.

"Do you have someone on your mind?" Izumi asked.

"Maya." Jaxon said.

"Don't tell me you're pulling that falling in love with the best friend cliché?" Izumi cringed.

"Maybe? Maybe not? I'm still not sure." Jaxon said.

"You are never sure." Izumi scoffed.

"You can tell her now. I won't get in the way. You like Violet more. I don't like her in that way." Jaxon said. The sudden words caught Izumi off guard.

"Hehe. I knew it." Max said wrapping his arms around Izumi and Jaxon.

"There's a love triangle going on." Max continued.

"You know?!" Izumi whisper shouted and looked in front of him to make sure Violet didn't hear anything.

"Of course I did! I didn't expect Jaxon to like Maya, but oh well, a surprise is good too." Max said.

"Alright, this is our stop. See you all at the Color Festival." Rina said as she, Rei, Zoë, and Cora headed toward her house.

"Was I that obvious?" Izumi asked looking away.

"Hissing at a cat that liked Violet gave it away. You were so jealous." Max said.

"Shut up." Izumi said.

"What are you three up to?" Violet asked stopping and turning around. It was like they were pondering something. Izumi immediately pulled away out of Max's grip.

"Nothing. Keep walking." Izumi said and walked past her. She watched him walking away with his hands in his pockets. Was he mad at her? Did she interrupt something? Was he still mad about the time she hit bim with a textbook?

"Izumi? Are you mad at me?" she asked and ran to catch up to him.

"No." Izumi said.

"Oh thank goodness." she sighed. He didn't make eye contact with her and it didn't convince her. What did she do wrong?

"About time!" Maya said waiting at the front gate of the estate.

"Let's go do homework at your house!" Violet said excitedly.

"You just want to eat the snacks I made." Maya said.

"Guilty." Violet sighed. They all followed Maya as they headed to her house. Max grabbed Maya away from Violet.

"Hey!" Maya said.

"I need to talk to you." Max said. Maya nodded because Max looked serious.

"How does Violet feel about Izumi?" he asked.

"What does that matter?" she asked.

"Just answer the question! It's important. Be honest." Max said.

"Fine. But don't tell anyone. She might have feelings for him." Maya said. Max gave a bright smile.

"Well then. I guess the two like each other." Max said.

"You mean he likes her back?" Maya asked, curiosity getting her.

"He sure does. Do you wanna team up and get them together?" Max asked. He was acting like a girl and wanted to find a way to get the two together.

"Sure do!" Maya said. She giggled as they started planning out what to do...
