Maeve POV

The next morning.

"How's Remus I heard he got in a fight or something." I said as I pinched some bacon off Sirius's plate.

"He's at the hospital wing.
He got in a fight and his face got scratched up pretty deep, madam pomfrey was able to heal it, but it's going to scar.
He's not feeling to good about it so it's probably best to give him time before you see him."
Peter mentioned in a serious tone.

"I'm seeing him in the hour whether you like it or not." I hummed.

"You have class." Peter reminded in a dismissive voice.

"I'm getting highest marks for all my classes, besides I'll be missing muggle studies so it doesn't matter." I took more of Sirius' bacon without him noticing then grabbed two banana choc chip muffins as I walked to the hospital wing.

Remus was in his usual spot at the back of the room, he had the curtain around his bed for privacy.
That wasn't normal, so I made sure to close them after I walked in.

"Hey moony, I got a muffin for us each."

He hid his face in his book but I didn't mind.
Placing the muffin on his bed side table for him, I waited for when he's ready.

"Thanks." He mumbled, popping his head above the book slightly so I could only see his eyes and above.

"What's up, still reading lord of the rings?" I asked with a warm smile.

A hum of agreement left his mouth as he nodded, before another silence fell between the two.
"I got another one, another scar." He whimpered.

"But you always get scars after a fight."

"This time across my face." His voice wavered as he lowered the book slowly, his lip quivered and I could see the tears filling his caramel eyes, as I stared at his new scar.
It went from his upper cheek, over the bridge of his nose with a slight downward angle.

"I look hideous." He whimpered.

I sat down next to him, holding his hand tightly, staring into his glassy eyes.

"Please don't say that." My eyes began to burn as my throat tightened.

"It's true I didn't look that great before but now, with these scars, especially this one,
They make me look hideous." Staring up at the celling, he tried to blink away his tears as his voice cracked from trying to hold himself together.

"You are not even close to ugly Remus,
You never have been.
To be quite frank I think you are very attractive, and no matter how many scars you have I will always think that." I tried to reassure him, moving the loose hair that had fallen in front of his face.

"Maeve, these scars-"

"Do you think I'm hideous?" I cut him off in a sigh.

"No, your beautiful, that has nothing-"

"Remus, you can't tell anyone this, promise me." I interrupted him again.

"I promise?" Remus shrugged but still sounding sincere.

I look around to make sure the curtains are completely closed before letting out a shaky breath as I start to unbutton my shirt.
