If you could go back in time, would you?

Would you risk everything you have, to change that one mistake?

This was the case for two people in this universe. They looked different, sounded different. They had different friends. They went to different schools. Actually, one of them didn't go to school at all.

They were in different worlds, living different lives.

They were about as different as they could be.

But they missed each other every single day.

--

He hadn't seen her for a year. One whole year. It hurt so much, after everything they'd been through.

His siblings missed her too. He saw Lucy's sad eyes every time she saw snow. He saw Ed mourning for a country he never thought he'd leave, for a girl who became a sister. He watched as Susan tried to forget, forget everything ever existed. She didn't think they'd return. But he knew they would.

At least, he hoped. But after nearly twelve long months, that hope was almost gone. Would he ever see her again? Would they ever return to Narnia?

And if they did, would anything be the same? Would Narnia still be there? Did she miss him? Had she moved on?

He hadn't. Peter had tried, over and over again, to move on. It got easier as time passed by, but it would be a long time before he would.

At first, his hope had been so strong that he never even considered moving on. He had prayed, every day, to go back, to see her.

When he moved back to his boarding school, things were different. Everyone seemed to grow up, including him and his friends. They all had girlfriends now. Well, most of them. Peter had been asked out first, but he declined. He declined every single time. He knew he'd see her again. His friends called him 'crazy' and 'delusional'. Said that this 'imaginary girlfriend' of his wasn't real, that he should move on. Teased him about getting so bored during his time away that he got lost in his head. They even tried to set him up on a date. But he ignored that.

Lately, however, his hope had been fading. He found a part of himself wanting to move on. So he forced himself to look around, try and see nice, kind, attractive girls that might help him move on.

There was no point going crazy over someone he'd never see again.

But it never worked. Every time he tried, the girls declined after the first date. Said they felt like he was 'comparing them to someone else'. Either that or they wouldn't be what he was looking for. He was looking for someone kind, smart and funny. Someone brave and fiercely loyal. Someone who was a tiny bit impulsive, but kept a cool head under pressure.

Those girls were right, he was comparing them to someone.

He was comparing them to Evelyn.

This whole time, he was becoming less and less happy. He became angry, too impulsive. Lashing out at everyone and everything. Fighting in the subway. Skipping and failing classes.

Susan hated it, as it meant the role of caring, protective older sibling fell to her. Ed hated it, but he always got involved. Lucy hated it most of all.

She saw him in pain, dealing with it in the worst way. She saw him hiding it. She heard him pretending everything was okay whenever she tried to talk about it.

But she knew they'd go back, and everything would be okay again.

She'd be Queen, Peter would be King, they'd see Mr. Tumnus and the Beavers again and Narnia would be okay.

But, best of all, they'd see Evelyn again. And Peter would finally see that he's doing everything wrong. That he doesn't have to move on.

Everything would go back to normal.

Oh, how naïve he was.

--

She hadn't seen him for thirteen hundred years.

Thirteen hundred long years without him.

She knew he had to leave eventually, she just didn't think he'd be gone so long.

At first, she had hope.

Hope for the war-torn world she used to call home. Hope for the Narnians, that someday they could live the way they used to - wild, free, happy. Hope for the free spirit of her country.

Hope that he'd come back for her.

But he never did.

Despite everything Aslan told her, she'd stopped believing. Even Aslan made mistakes, maybe this was one of them.

Narnians had been driven into extinction over one thousand years ago.

And nothing had changed since.

HEYYYYYYYY!!!

Guess who's back with another fanfic!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!

ITS FINALLY HEREEEEE!

This is the sequel to 'The Forgotten'. I've spent ages planning, since the very beginning, and I've been writing this prologue since before 'The Forgotten' was finished. I'm so excited that it is finally done and I can start the next part of Evelyn's journey. I have so much planned.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the prologue. I will try to update once a week, but, like with the last book, no promises. School is kinda crazy right now, lots of big assignments and projects and tests and conferences and all sorts, yk, the usual mid year crap. I'm also trying to move up a year in French, which is kinda stressful, but I'm trying.

Thank you all for reading!

Love you all

Lil
