Chapter 44

Jennie's POV

I got out and went to the conference room. My eyebrows rose when I saw Lisa standing inside.

"What do you need Lisa?" I ask. She stepped closer to me and here again are the feelings I shouldn't have.

"I have a deal." she laid on the table the divorce papers I had meant to leave yesterday. I looked straight into her eyes as if I was drowning in her gaze. Lisa has this look that is so lovable. I was nervous about the deal. What could it be? I swallowed before answering.

"What is it?"

"I will agree to sign the papers but you have to come with me and pretend that you're my wife and ... and that you still love me."

My heart exploded. Her eyes are full of pains and sincerity. I want to hug her. I don't want to see her like this but I can't.

"W-what?"

"Pretend Jennie. Pretend."

"You know I can't do that Lisa. I have Kai."

My heart almost pounded as Lisa held my hands. After eight years, I felt her warm palms. Lisa is looking at me with pain and longing.

"Please ... be with me again Jennie and after that, y-you can be again w-with Kai." She stutters. She forced a smile. I withdrew my hand from her grip and walked away. Pretend? Will that help? I'm confused. When Kai finds out, he will be angry. But everything would be easier if I agreed.

"Jennie please agreed to this and after this I won't bother you anymore."

"Give me time to think Lisa."

"I don't know Jisoo." Jisoo gently nod and take my hand.

"If you're desperate, you can agree."

"Kai will be angry."

"What else Jen? what else can you do?" I was silenced. My mind argues over yes and no. I remember Lisa saying she would stop me if I agreed. Maybe I have to accept it? because I also want to end this problem. I want to have a peaceful wedding with Kai because he deserves it. Kai did nothing but to love and understand me. It's my turn, because it's for him and for the two of us.

"Okay fine for us." I reply to Jisoo. Jisoo smirk so I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Are you sure?" she asks assuring me. This is it. I can't believe that for the last time I will be tie again to Lisa.

"Yes why do you look at me like that?"

"Let's see when you love Lisa again."

"Jisoo!"

"What?" she said laughing. I slapped her on the arm.

"I already have a relationship!" Jisoo just chuckled. She stood up and faced me.

"It's like you're cheating." I bit my lips.

"I thought about that too chu. I just thought it was for the two of us." Just now, I feel guilty. Kai doens't deserve this. But what can I do? That's what Lisa wants. I don't know what went through her mind and this is what she asked for. Did she think she would get me again and be weak for her? Well no. I am not the same as before.

"Jennie knows your limits in agreeing to this deal. No offense but you're practically cheating on Kai."

"I know Chu. I know." I said. Jisoo is right I should know my limits.

"Anyways, goodluck and when you have a problem call me." I smiled at what Jisoo said.

"Thank you Chu." I said and hug her.

I let go of the hug of someone who entered. It was Rosie.

"Jennie!" she called happily and hugged.

"Rosie." I said. She then hugged Jisoo and Jisoo kissed her on the cheek. Indeed, a lovely couple.

"Hi, we just met again after Jisoo's party." I smiled and nodded.

"Yes and sorry we left immediately." she immediately shook her head.

"It's okay. By the way I miss you." she said shyly. I laughed.

"I miss you too Rosie. It's been a while and I never thought you'd get back together." Rosie glared at Jisoo.

"I was just forced to be with Jisoo."

"The fuck Chaeyoung-ah?" Jisoo is annoyed.

"I was joking love!" Rosie's defense made me laugh. Jisoo roll her eyes at Rosie.

"It's not obvious and you're so inlove with each other." I said. I stayed at Jisoo's office first. Rosie opened up to me about what had happened over the past eight years and it was inevitable to include Lisa in the topic of the three of us. I took the courage to ask.

"Did she have an accident?" I ask. Rosie looked at me and nodded.

"Yes, Lisa was very drunk at that time wih the heavy rain." Jisoo replied as she walked towards us carrying a tray with food. She sat beside Rosie.

"I almost died! She got hit by a car in the back near her waist! She got bruises and wounds." Rosie exclaimed. I bet she still not over yet about what had happened to Lisa.

Oh my god.

"W-what?" I ask.

"When we arrive in the hospital, the doctors declared Lisa was almost comatose but thank God she survived. When she woke up, she was pale and ..." Jisoo cut her words so I was curious.

"And?" I asked nervously.

"Lisa was looking for you."

"M-me?"

"Yes you Jennie, she's calling your name. I swear Lisa was so close to being a pyschopath when you disappeared. And she hasn't stopped yet, we've traveled a few countries just to find you."

She did that? Oh god.

"It's my first time to see someone who will sacrifice everything for love." Rosie commented and sip her drink.

Jisoo looked at me seriously as I silenced down. I don't know how I should feel about what I've heard. She did all that for me and it happened and it was now over.
