*********Evanna's POV*********
I quickly rush behind Josh pushing the curtain aside and only to come to a halt seeing the chaos outside. Frantically I looked for him, why would he suddenly leave! We had just found Bash! We had to train him, hell, HE needed to train him! And on top of that finding the third elements has kind of increased our chances of the awakening of the ascendants because of which we had to maintain more caution and security around here.
I tried screaming out his name, "Josh!" Where could he have gone so quickly, it's not safe for anyone to be out and the sun has already set and only the dying light emitting from the bonfire near the stream was dully giving a glow to my path. Kids seemed to be running back to their homes while the adults kept moving ahead without saying a word.
What was happening? why the silent chaos and why were the kids being sent back?
No one could see in the dark as many of them kept tripping and muttering curses and then hushing after realizing that they were with kids, why weren't the lamps put up yet?
I bought my fist up clenching it tight before releasing it with a substantial flame sitting on my hand illuminating a vast distance. People looked up grateful for the flame, "What happened? why is everyone running around like this?" I asked a women holding her child's hand. "It seems like someone has come in the shadows." She said that and hurried along leaving me frozen where i tried to stand my ground.
No one comes in. No one has ever been able to. none of the outsiders know about us living here, neither have they ever dared to go any deeper past the dark forest.
Something is happening.
I could feel it.
I gasp at the sudden pain emitting from my right shoulder making me fall to my knees and let a small cry of pain. My hand quickly went up there to hold it and do anything that would make the pain go away but then it disappeared as soon as it had come. I breathed in relief and took the knife from underneath my boots and was about to tear off the cloth at my shoulder when a voice startled me, "Anna!!" was all Raven screamed before running towards me with a burning torch, "Are you alright!?"
"Yeah, completely fine." I quickly put the knife away and got up swiftly, "Whats happening out there? I heard someone got in?"
"Yes, no.... kinda, someone did and before you ask any further questions I need you to head back-"
"Hold up!" I stopped her mid-sentence, "Are you insane? something bad's gonna happen and I know it, and at the moment I don't even know where Free might be! If its related to the ascendants then its not safe for her or any of us out there and I'm going no matter what." I walk past her not bothering to hear her reply and turned off looking for Josh. I ran up to the training grounds and shouted for him but got nothing in return, stopping mid-way I asked some people about him and they claimed of not seeing him. Dread settled over me.
God, where did this boy go!
Giving up for the moment i broke into a sprint towards the borders.

I slowed down before walking up to the crowd gathered.
there was a mortifying silence.
No one was speaking anything. and the air was stale. Reeking of blood.
people were standing facing me. They had formed a sort of protective circle and were standing in a fighting stance after seeing me. Were they going to fight me? What are they doing?
