I could hear the loud music playing when we got out of the car. Adrenaline was rushing through my veins so fast and my heart was pounding rapidly.
"Ready?" Aidan asked right behind me. My feet flew off the ground. I must have jumped a foot. Why was I so jumpy? Maybe it was because if anyone saw me with Aidan, it'll be bad news for me. Not bad news like 'oh cute you and Aidan', but that was a big part too. I was more thinking about the bad news of 'really, the alpha' sort of thing.
"Uh, yeah. I think so." I choked. He chuckled at my lack of reassurance. "Okay then, let's go." He marched toward the entrance door, but I stayed standing by the car. I wanted to move, but my feet refused. After a lot of struggling and a questioning glance from Aidan, they finally started to move. But only slowly.
He held his hand out for me to grab hold of, but I shook my head. "I'm fine." He shrugged at my remark and kept walking keeping a steady pace so that I could actually keep up with him. I knew he didn't mean for me to take his hand because I could barely walk, but that's how I responded. So that maybe, there's a slight chance that he wouldn't think I was having a mental breakdown right now.
From what seemed like ages, we finally got to the door. Aidan swiftly got in front of me and opened the door, bowing. "After you madam." I tried to hold back a smile, but I was unsuccessful. "Thanks." I whispered under my breath.
When we entered, everything was bouncing from the walls, people, energy, music, lights. It was an amazing feeling just being in Club Rezzere. Suddenly, all my worries faded. So what if I was here with Aidan? It's not like my friend's know he's my alpha. Sure, there's always the others, but I can always take them on. Growing up with two older brothers has it's advantages.
Aidan made his way over to the restaurant podium and I trailed along, not wanting to get too far away from him, afraid to get carried away with the crowd. A few times I glanced at his hand, thinking about grabbing it, but then deciding that might not be the best idea.
"Table for two please." Aidan almost had to yell because the place was so loud. The waiter nodded. I'm guessing he was around my age. He grabbed two menu's a motioned for us to follow him. We traveled through the restaurant until we got to a booth seat that looked out at the dance floor. "Here you guys go. Hi, my name is Jacob. I'll be your server this evening. Now, let's begin by taking some drink orders. Do you guys already know what you want to drink?" Jacob said. Aidan looked to me for the okay. I nodded. "Yeah, I'll just have some water please." I decided I better go safe instead of totally loopy with like caffeine or something.
Jacob quickly jotted on his notepad. "And you?" Aidan looked at the drink part of the menu for a moment. "Same for me please." Again, our waiter jotted down on his notepad and nodded. "Okay, I'll be right back with those." He replied and scurried off to take more orders.
My eyes wandered to the dance floor and, unknowingly, I started tapping my foot in anticipation. I wanted to dance. The energy was flowing through me and the only way out, right now, was through my foot.
"Are you okay?" Aidan asked, concern in his expression. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just..." Again, my eyes flicked to the dance floor. "Want to dance?" Aidan ended the sentence for me. I nodded admittedly.
His now fairly familiar crooked smile spread across his face. "Okay, let's get a groove on!" He joked. I couldn't help but smile. Aidan held his hand out and I took it quickly. Towing me, Aidan walked out onto the dance floor. "But what about our waiter? Won't he be expecting us to be there to take our order." I asked. Aidan just shrugged my question off. "Nah, he's probably used to it."
