Lilith began to do that same thing every night. She would leave in the middle of the night acting strange, then be right back in bed by morning. Alexa was the only one who noticed though, she was the only one who stayed up late enough to see Lilith walk out. Alexa walked down the stairs meeting up with Tal and Max to go outside to the river again. Alexa knew she promised not to visit Tal's river again but after seeing it the first time, she fell in love with it. She tried to gain self-control but could never say no when the boys invited her along. Tal led the way, his right hand was held back though being held by Max right behind him. Alexa knew there had to be some sort of chemistry between them but didn't bother nagging them about it. If there was really something between them like Alexa thought, it would be best for them to come out at their own pace and not to be rushed.
Tal pushed passed the last branch and there stood the river. The water wasn't loud but you could still hear it. You could hear the leaves in the trees rustle as the wind blew, you could also feel the wind against your skin no matter where you sat. The grass was always well kept and a bright green healthy color. Alexa had thought Tal must've made it his job to keep this place looking nice for whoever stumbles upon it and for himself.
Max dragged Tal to the edge of the grass right by the river stream. They sat hand in hand, taking off their shoes and socks to dip their feet into the nice cool water. Though it was still fall and now deep into it, the water always had a way to be the perfect temperature. Alexa climbed up on top of a rock on the other side of the river, having to use steppingstones to get across. Once she made it she sat on the rock, whatever little bit of the sun shining shone onto her back, leaving a nice warm feeling. She could hear birds chirping in the distance and the laughter of Max and Tal.
'Whatever they are talking about must be very funny if they are laughing that much.' Alexa thought to herself as she laughed a little. She watched as Max rested his head on Tal's shoulder and Tal pulled out his ukulele. He began to strum the strings, a beautiful melody arose. Alexa loved to listen to Tal play his ukulele, he was honestly incredibly good and his music seemed to relieve any stress Alexa was feeling. Alexa took a few deep breaths, then just listened to Tal's music. The cold rock under her wasn't the most comfortable but she would rather sit up higher near the sun than down on the cold dewy grass. The only noise to be heard from where she was sitting was the birds chirps and Tal's music, the birds made it sound like they were trying to sing along to Tal's music. A gust of wind blew which made Alexa deep brown hair float and her smile widen.
Alexa loved fall, she loved the mix of cool and warm weather. It was never too cold or too hot like in Summer or Winter, it was always right in between, where she loved it. Tal's music slowly faded away as he ended his song. Now all that could be heard were the trees rustling in the wind and the birds chirping. The three sat in silence for a while until Alexa noticed that Tal had fallen asleep in Max's arms in the grass. They were both laid back, Max's arms around Tal's torso. Tal's face buried in Max's chest as they both laid still and calm. Alexa smiled, then looked up at the sky to see how much the sun must have moved. It was no longer shining on her back but now straight onto the river from right above.
'We must've been gone for a few hours.' Alexa thought to herself before getting herself off the rock. As much as she loved seeing how cute of a 'couple' Tal and Max were, it was about that time to get home. Alexa cross the steppingstones once more and reached over to tap Max's shoulder. He woke and looked down at Tal in his arms, still fast asleep. He looked back up at Alexa who was just smiling.
"I think we should head back now, you know before it gets dark." Alexa whispered to Max. He nodded his head then stood up picking up Tal bridal style. He motioned for Alexa to lead since he was carrying Tal in his arms. Alexa giggled softly then helped push back branches and leaves for Max. Somehow Tal stayed asleep he entire time.
