*Alex POV*

It has been about a week since I first came to the campus. Honestly, nothing much has happened. All of us have been too busy stressing, as today is the first day of classes. Yay?

It is currently 5:20 in the morning. I was typing away at my century-old laptop, my prize possession, when I heard John begin to shift in his bed. I stopped typing, hoping not to wake him this early.

After he settled back down, I decided that I required more coffee. I stretched, placing my bare feet on the ice-cold flooring, and made my way to the small kitchen.

The coffee finally finished brewing. I got up, heading to the top cabinet, but when I opened the door, I realized that my mugs were out of my short reach. With it only being about 6 in the morning now, and no one was awake and I am too stubborn to ask for help, I decided that the best course of action was to stand on the counter to reach the mugs.

I pulled one of the bar stools over to the counter, and very gracefully managed to climb to the top of the counter. I opened the cabinet, once again, revealing the mugs. As I lifted the hand that was keeping me steady, I lost my balance. I tried to grab something, preventing my fall, but it was no use. I fell to the floor, bringing about four mugs with me, all shattering when smacking the floor.

"What ze hell is going on in here?!" Still on the floor, I looked over to find a very drowsy Lafayette standing over me.

"I-I was-"

I was cut off by a Yelp. Once again, another body appeared, hovering over me. "Jesus Christ, Alex! Are you okay? What the fuck happened?" That accent could only come from one extremely sleepy Laurens.

I tried to sit up, but I was immediately pushed back down by John. "There is no way you're getting up!" I sighed, unsure as to why their eyes were bugging out of their heads.

"What the hell was that noise?" Herc shouted. "Is everyone alright- oh my god, what the hell happened?!" Hercules silhouette now hovered over my body like the rest of my friends.

"Uh, should I call Eliza? She is pre-med. could make sure he is okay?" John spoke up. The rest of the group nodded as Lafayette pulled out his phone to call this Eliza person.

"Why won't you guys let me up!? And you don't have to call anyone, I'm fine." I sighed, frustrated. I just wanted my damn coffee at this point.

"You busted your head open Ham, there's blood everywhere!" Herc stated.

"You also have a piece of glass in your hand," John commented.

I lifted my arm to see a shiny piece of green glass sticking from the palm of my hand. I used my other hand to trace my forehead, quickly finding a decent-sized gash just above my eyebrow.

Before I could say anything, The door burst open. Three women walked in, one of which I'm guessing is Eliza. "Geez man, you really outdid yourself." A girl with long, straight black hair commented. She approached me, helping me sit up as the other two who came with her flocked to Herc and Laf.

"You should be fine. Nothing but a small cut. Head wounds bleed more than your average cut so that's why it seems so dramatic." She deadpanned placing a tiny piece of gauze in the injury. "Just keep this on until the bleeding stops, then you should be all set for that one."

I applied pressure to the wound and she pulled another piece of gauze from her bag. "Bad timing, but uh, I don't believe we have met," I stated, holding out my good hand. "I'm Alexander Hamilton, nice to meet you." She dropped the gauze pad and made direct eye contact with Laurens.
