"Hannyyyy can we play ball pleaseee" squealed Aliyah.

"Ummmm fine but only for a bit I have work to do"

"Yayyy. Let's play let's play" She chanted ecstatically.

Reluctantly I grabbed the pink and black air-filled football from her room and headed to the sitting room.
The sitting room was decent sized and enough to kick a ball around, the curtains were light blue and the wall paper pattern matched the design on the sofas giving it a sophisticated look. To complete the room up on the ceiling hung a small but beautiful chandelier.

"Okay Aliyah you stand over there and I'll stand here then you can kick it to me"

Aliyah skipped over to her spot obediently and I softly kicked it towards her. We continued to pass back and forth when suddenly the ball flew upwards. I panicked as I saw where it was aimed at... uh oh...the chandelier. My eyes followed the ball to see it hit with speed, causing it to come crashing down.

I stepped back in shock but quickly came forward to see the damage, lifting a piece of the glass chandelier in my hand.

"Uh oh" whispered Aliyah, looking just as terrified as me.

"Don't worry Aliyah I'll say it was my fault okay, you go upstairs to your room. Go on"

After a few seconds of hesitation she followed my words and headed upstairs.
Reality hit me as I looked at the broken pieces. Dads gonna kill me, what do I do, what do I do... I thought worriedly

"Haniya.... haniya what was that noise I just heard?" Boomed a deep voice

Uh oh dad heard it from upstairs.

"Haniya why are you not answering me, have you gone deaf?"

His footsteps approached closer as I heard him come down the stairs.

My heartbeat quickened once again while my mind went blank and afraid. I jolted around in shock and winced in pain as the glass cut my finger from the sudden movement.

The door opened and there stood my dad. I watched how his eyes scanned the room and his expression turned from shock to slightly merciful and then to angry. His head spun around to look at me and through gritted teeth he spoke...

"Well done Haniya, as if you being clumsy wasn't a big enough headache already."

"Here take this"

I looked up from where I was sitting to see him shoving the table lamp in my face.

"Break this too....Stupid child"
I flinched and moved back but in a second he roughly grabbed my arm

"Where do you think you're going hurry up and clean this" With that notice he pushed me still holding onto my wrist and I stumbled tripping over.

"Ow ow it hurts" I whispered, my tears threating to spill.

"Let me go I'msorryimsorry." My voice cracked and my words seemed to not make sense. Warm tears spilled down my cheek as I desperately tried to wipe it away. His grip tightened and my wrist was turning red and bruised.

"Stop stop please" "STOP" I screamed with my last bit of energy

*ringggg*

*gasp*

I woke up in shock and frantically looked around... yes yes I'm in my room it's just me. I took a deep breath and felt something trickle down my cheek. I looked in the mirror at my red face and wiped away my tears. My skin radiated heat and felt like I had been drowning in sweat. I looked down at my hands to see them shaking continuously and I shivered as I recollected the broken memories from my nightmare.
