(1 Month later)

"Good morning"

"Morning!"

I walked in to my lesson saying hi to a few people and sat at my table.

At this point I'm sure I looked like a panda with dark under eyes after only sleeping for 3 hours last night. I put my head down on the table and waited for lesson to finish, checking my phone clock every few minutes.

(Lunch)

I walked over to my usual spot sitting next to Saf.

"Hey Haniya hasn't it been like a whole week, Zack isn't anywhere to be seen?"

"I know right. So it's not just me who noticed. I wonder what happen"

Maybe I should ask Lucas.

Coincidentally next lesson Zack was in my class. I sed a quick hi and began my work as usual. He's here today! I wonder why he skipped the whole week... After completing my work I sat there fiddling trying to master the pen spin on my fingers while day dreaming.

"Bye everyone!"

I looked up after hearing his familiar deep voice
He stood up and walked to the door.

Where was he going, class was only halfway done?

"YO Zachariah" Yelled Chris from across the class "where are you going?"

"I'm going man, my flights in 3 hours I need to get ready"

Flight? What, where was he going?

His eyes suddenly turned to me (probably after seeing my confused face)

"Bye I'm going forever..." I couldn't understand but something about his voice and eyes made it seem like he wasn't joking. Yet his smile was still as bright as ever.

"You're going? Um have a safe flight and enjoy!"

"Thanks" he looked down and smiled

I looked around at others waving so I did a quick wave and he smiled before saying another bye and walking out. He must be joking right? Forever? He didn't say where he was going.

My heart dropped realising it wasn't a joke. Forever?

(A few weeks later)

"SAFIYA I don't think Zack was joking anymore"

I remember telling Saf a few weeks ago about Zacks quick leave. She assured me he was probably joking and I had believed the same too. Surely he would be back after the holidays?

"He hasn't come back?"

"No I think he was serious"

I sighed hiding my little disappointment. Why should I even be disappointed. After all sparks are only used to light flames but some are blown away before they ever get to light up. He was like the beautiful firework you should only watch from afar. My empty heart would have to continue back to how it once was. This time without a crush. I'm glad it was just a crush.
