"CAW CAW package from Urodaki CAW CAW" nezuko the crow screamed. She dropped the package on tanjiros lap exhausted and sat on his hair. "Ah, thank you nezuko. You must be exhausted, aren't you?" Tanjiro said while laying some rice on his hair for nezuko to eat.
"Well let's see what he gave me"
Tanjiro unwrapped the paper and saw a kitsune mask. "Woah! He gave me a new one! Cool!" Tanjiro shouted with a large smile, startling nezuko.
'Oh? There's a note' he opened it and read it
"Tanjiro, I hope you're doing fine these last couple of days. I heard about how you killed lower moon 5, lower moon one, and even defeated upper moon three. I have to say you are far exceeding my expectations my boy. You are doing a great job. But I heard that your mask broke during the fight with the upper moon. You told me you loved the previous one I made you so I decided to make you a new one. I hope you like it and make sure to visit when you have the chance"
Tanjiro smiled and put the letter in his pockets. He took a look at the kitsune mask. It had the same sun mark at the same spot as the last one but it also has small flame marks coming out of the nose and mouth. He pulled out a blank piece of paper and wrote
"Thank you so much Urodaki San, thank you so much for the new kitsune mask! I'll make sure to take better care of it. And thank you for the compliments. I'll keep on trying my best to become stronger and defeat muzan. And I'll definitely visit you whenever I have the chance."
Tanjiro decided to let nezuko rest so he put the letter in his haori. Nezuko practically beamed at this. After a couple of minutes he heard her snore. 'How cute'
He moved the sleeping crow to his room and into the bed he made for her. But before he could take a rest he smelled Hotaru(the sword Smith) and a new nichirin blade.
'Ah, they're here! Yay! I get to have a new sword!' Thought tanjiro with enthusiasm as he went outside. "Hello hotaru san-Eh?" Tanjiro however saw hotaru pull out a butcher knife from his pocket. All of a sudden he rushed at tanjiro with his knife, aiming for a kill.
Tanjiro quickly dodged him. 'Huh?!'
"How dare you lose my sword?! How dare you?!" Shouted hotaru
"E-Eh?! Oh! I'm sorry! I threw it at upper moon three when he escaped" tanjiro quickly explained, fearing for his life
"Now you have the audacity to use my sword as a spear?! To hell with you!!" Hotaru chased tanjiro with malicious intent for almost an hour. After tanjiro calmed him down to an extent they both went inside the butterfly estate, outside in the garden, and sat
"Just hurry up and draw your blade already before I chase you again!" Hotaru threatened. Tanjiro quickly obeyed while sweating
When he unsheathed his sword it turned completely black before thick, red, zigzag like flame outlines appeared on it and ending with a dancing flame on the tip of his sword.
"Ah it's the same as before, but the red is even more brighter!" Hotaru exclaimed. Tanjiro however had an idea
He gripped the handle of his sword hard and all of the sudden the sword turned red.
"Woah!! How'd you do that?! A color changing nichirin blade?! I have to tell this to the others!" While hotaru was writing down notes tanjiro looked at his now red sword
It was a crimson red (like in the picture), just the same as when he fought akaza. He looked at the vanguard of his sword. It had the appearance of a long dragon wrapping around itself in a curl.
He stopped gripping on the handle, making it turn back to it's original state and color. Hotaru ran back all happy while tanjiro made his sword turn crimson red again and stared at it in wonder. 'Even though I'm not using a form right now I can still feel the heat coming from the sword.... how cool!' Tanjiro thought to himself
"Moshi mosh~" he looked up at saw Shinobu. She leaned forward and unto his back. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders
'Wha- wait woah! Huh?! What's up with this?!' Thought tanjiro with a heavy blush
"Looks like you got your new blade. And you're able to turn it red again. It feels hot" Shinobu stated, not moving from this.....position
"A-ah yes, it looks very nice too" tanjiro replied with a smile. "The master would want to see this soon so prepare yourself for a meeting with him. And don't stutter like you usually do when you're nervous~" she teased. Tanjiro only looked at the ground with a look of embarrassment. 'Fu fu, how cute' Shinobu thought
"CAW CAW the master wants to see tanjiro as soon as he's available CAW CAW" a crow said while appearing out of no where. 'Why does something always have to interrupt my free time with tanjiro kun?'
'Aww I wanted to spend more time with Shinobu San'
Shinobu got of his back and stood up straight. Tanjiro quickly got up and looked at Shinobu
"Well, you should be on your way. The master is waiting for you after all" Shinobu said. She then leaned in and got closer to his face(she had to use her tippy toes a bit) "though do make sure you come back soon~"
Tanjiro blushed but took the challenge
"As much as I'd liked to spend time with this pretty butterfly right now I'm afraid I don't have time. I do expect to see you later though" tanjiro said.
Both of them blushed but leaned in a bit closer. So close to the point were the tips of their noses were touching. They stared into each other's eyes before tanjiro retracted his head and smiled
"CAW CAW if you two are done flirting now would you mind hurrying up! CAW CAW"
Both of their faces basically turned into tomatoes. 'We weren't flirting! ...... were we?' Tanjiro thought while looking away
"Well I'll see you later tanjiro kun. Sayonara"
"A-ah, you too. Sayonara"
And with that tanjiro left and followed the crow to the masters mansion/demon slayer headquarters. When he got there the master was already waiting for him
"Sorry if I made you wait master" tanjiro apologized while bowing
"No,no, it's ok. Besides, you didn't keep me waiting long" kagaya replied with a warm smile
"Well, I heard you got your sword today which is why you're here. Would you mind if you showed me your sword?" Tanjiro quickly complied and unsheathed his sword. Kagaya stared at it with his warm smile
"Impressive sword, impressive colors." Kagaya complimented. "Ah, thank you"
"Can you show me how you turned your sword red?" Kagaya asked, a bit eager.
"Of course" tanjiro grinned his sword tightly. Almost immediately his sword turned crimson red. Kagayas eyes opened wide with shock and amazement.
"Wonderful, so this was able to delay upper moon three's regeneration speed so bad it scared him?"
"Yes I believe so"
Kagaya smiled at tanjiro, making him feel warm inside
"Very well then, since you got your sword you are ready to go on missions."
Tanjiro looked at the master with happiness
"Your first mission is to go to the red light district with uzui tengen, the sound pillar. His wife's have gone missing there as well as many other people"
'Huh? Wife's? He has multiple wife's?'
"You are to accompany him and help him defeat the demon. You can bring anyone you want. In this case, the more the better" Kagaya finished off
"Hai!"
"I suggest you go now before uzui San does something...."
"Flamboyant?" Tanjiro finished the mastered unsaid sentence.
"Hehe, yes. You are dismissed my child" tanjiro left with a grin as he went back to the butterfly estate and prep up.
However, when he got there he heard cries of help and noises of struggle. He ran to the front only to see uzui with aoi and sumi in his arms while Kanao, kiyo, and naho tried to help them.
'*inhale* we're already off to a great start huh?'
