A Happy Start

At the office, the gaze of her colleaugues left Avee worried. She went to lee's cabin:

"Lee?" She called him.

"Have you seen today's digital entertainment magazine?", Lee asked Avee.

"No.Why?", Avee questioned.

"Read it," lee passed the tablet towards her.

The bulletin read 'The owner of Wonder Company and his long lists of Wonderful flings.'

"It has your name Avee", lee said.

Avee went through the news, patiently, tears rolling down her cheeks. She never thought that Pete would do this to her. She cursed herself for having ever met him.

"Where are you going Avee?" Lee asked.

"To Pete", she answered.

"I will come with you", Lee said.

As Avee and Lee walked into Pete's office, Pete welcomed them. His warm and welcoming gesture broke Avee more. She couldnot understand how could Pete change so much?

"I was waiting for you avee. Didn't know Lee would come?" He said.

"Did you tell the magazine about us, pete?"

"Yes. I did. Actually I askd them to publish only about you. That you are my one true love but they have this urge to publish news that would sell more, so they published so many names. Just so you know Avee none of those relations were serious."

Avee stormed out. She was clueless. "Why did pete even do this?"

"Why did you do this pete? Cant you see you have hurt her again?" Lee shouted at him.

"I just wanted to make sure she chooses me. So that she doesn't have any other option." Pete smirked.

"She has me, pete", lee said.

"You don't want to marry her after knowing she loves me. Do you?" Asked Pete.

"I do. I love her more than you can imagine." Lee said.

Pete called Renyta and thanked her.

"I know you will be happy with lee, avee. I can only give you pain and nothing else. This report will make you hate me more than ever before." Pete wiped his tears.

Lee consoled avee, "I love you avee and I still want to marry you."

Avee hugged lee. "He is the right choice," avee thought to herself. Life with pete will always be a dream and never a reality, she knew that well.

The marriage was arranged to take place the next Sunday at the Kevinsky Estates. Lee had bought Kevinsky Estates at the auction.

Avee called her mother and invited Jenny and Rico along with their family. Lee had one friend all his life. He called him up.

"Pete, I am getting married to avee this Sunday. Do come to wish us, at the Kevinsky Estates." he hanged the phone.

Pete decided to go. He had nothing else to loose. The girl he loved, the estates all gone now.

The Sunday morning was unusual. There were guests and family and friends all around. The Estates was spread on acres of land. Beautifully built it was a sight to behold.

"You look unhappy avee. I hope you didn't jump into this decision?" Her mother said.

"Not at all. I am more sure than ever," she replied.

Pete walked into lee's room and wished him.

"Thanks for coming." Lee said

"Will you be alright brother? Why did you sacrifice your love even after knowing she loves you?" Rico stood by his brother and whispered. "I dont feel this is right", he argued.

"I am not the right choice for her, rico." Pete said.

Rico couldnt let his brother endure all this pain all over again. He had always been harsh on his brother but not anymore. After all that Pete did for him, giving him his share of property, respect, his mother, his love Jenny. He has everything now only because of Pete. He went up to Lee.

"Lee dont you see they love each other. Brother did all this fuss just to make sure you get to marry her, you have the happy ending but doesnt this bother you." Rico asked Lee.

Lee walked away and went into Avee's room. Avee I want to talk to you. As everyone moved out of the room,lee held Avee's hand
"Are you sure Avee? Pete has come. Will you be able to take your vows before him? Tell me before it's too late, Avee"

Tears rolled down. "Lee I dn't think I can love anyone other than Pete. I know its late. But I dn't know. I still love him. So much."

Lee smiled and left. "Its really late Avee."

As the wedding ceremonies started, lee went up to the stage to announce something.

"Hello everyone. Thanks for coming to the wedding today. 11 years back I had made a friend, a friend who had sacrificed everything for me. He gave me shelter, job and later even my company Jordan Indusries by selling his family home. He did the same thing again a week back. This time giving me a piece of his own heart. But why do I have to be the selfish one always? Today will be a wedding, just the groom will not be me."

Lee walkd up to Avee. "I know you love him and he deserves your love more than I ever could. I wasnt going to marry you anyway. Stop crying now Avee",Lee smiled as he spoke.

He held her hand and led her to Pete, " I hope all our scores are settled from this moment onwards. Both the girl and the estates always belonged to you Pete." lee said.

As the music began to play in the background,Avee and Pete looked into each other's eyes- their lovestory had been set with so many difficulties, misunderstanding and problems but love did find a way.The marriage vows and the kiss sealed their love, forever

"Where will we live Pete?" Avee asked.

"Kevinsky Estates. Now that we are together."

As Lee walked away he knew that both the people he loves the most were happy finally. He never wanted to snatch away Avee from Pete, he wanted her to love him. Although he felt betrayed and lost, he knew he had tried all his might to win Avee over. Sitting alone in the park, lee poured his heart out. Crying, sulking, he never could let out all the pain that he had stored in his heart all this years. He was tired. Just then a hand on his shoulder and a voice made him turn around.

"Why are you crying?"

As a chapter of unrequited love found its closure, a new chapter seemed to have found its way.
