Do I have a choice?

Avee always hated rainy season, it has a thousands of untold stories attached with her childhood that she wished to forget. Standing by the bus stop Avee waited patiently for a bus or a cab or anything to hop on. Its been 15 minutes she has been standing there with no signs of any transport, when a car suddenly stopped infront of her. Avee ignored the repeated honking as she had seen Pete driving the car.

He slided open the window and shouted

"Come inside the car. You will find no transport in this weather."

Avee didnot respond.

Pete drove away the car with such great speed, splashing all the dirty water on Avee's clothes.
Avee was fuming with rage.

In a few minutes, she however did find a cab and went to the office. She aways carried extra clothes during the rainy season and changed into one after she reached office.

Jenny informed her that her presentation had been approved and she will be working with the appointed members on that project hence forth.

Avee was relieved to hear the news but she was sure that it couldn't be Mr Rude CEO's decision but possibly Lee might have praised her work and recommemded her to him. Either way, she was happy with her first success.

At 5pm, just as she was about to leave for home, Lee came and asked her to accompany them for a meeting at Luccas Restro House. Avee agreed. They both left by the company car. Avee felt happy talking to Lee,she found him polite, well spoken and courteous quite opposite to Pete. The place was not quite far from office and their 15 minutes ride ended too soon, it seemed to Avee.

They went inside and Avee found Pete waiting inside. Lee didnt tell her that he would be there but of course she should have known he being the CEO. In a minute or so two gentlemen came in and the meeting started. The presentation was liked by the investors and they decided to fund the webtoon project. The story was Avee's idea entirely and it was the story that impressed the investors. Lee was to head the technological team and it was decided that the work would be completed within a month.

The meeting was over and Lee and Pete hopped on into the same vehicle. Avee had no other choice but to ask Lee to drop her, but lee said

"Its not my car you know, I am just an employee."

"You are not just an employee lee. You know that well. And Ms. Avee you can hop in the car." Said Pete.

Avee was irritated. The man whose lift and help she rejected in the morning, she had to take his help again. But what could she do anyway? She had no other choice.
