"4 minutes and 27 seconds"

"Ha?"

"You are late by exactly 4 minutes and 27 seconds plus counting Ms. Murthy" I said as soon as I felt Namdini's presence behind me as I looked at my watch.

"You were counting? Seriously?" I could hear the frown she had etched on her face in her tone.

"Yes seriously. I hate waiting and you made me wait for so long so I had to keep tabs" I shrugged, finally turning around to face her who looked very much amazed.

"Why have you called me here Manik? Do you know how hard is it to distract Navya. I don't like lying to her time and again" she cribbed but it made me smile for she looked adorable.

"Really then don't lie?" I said nonchalantly and the very next moment she was gaping at me with narrowed eyes.

"Ugh just get to the point already Manik and tell me mujhe kyu bulaya hai yaha?" She asked again.

"Ok so I generally don't use this word...generally kya...I guess I have never used this word but I guess I need to use it today" I began, subconsciously nervous.

"What word? Manik tum kya bol rahe ho?"

"Thanks" I said quickly and she seemed shocked.

"Huh?"

"I said thanks. Agar tumne mujhe fab 5 me sab sort karne ke liye nahi kaha hota toh I guess main ab tak apne ego me sabko ignore karta which might have worsened things" I explained and she smiled.

"So finally it's all sorted now?" She asked cheerfully and I could not help but smile back at her.

"Yes all good and some credit goes to you too"

"Chalo iss bahane Manik Malhotra ne mana toh sahi ki I was right" she smirked making me chuckle.

"Maybe but only this one time"

"Doesn't matter" she waved at me nonchalantly making me sigh.

"You save all this sass for me only na varna toh I have seen you always being sweet to others" I rolled my eyes.

"Well to get sweetness, you need to do something like that too and a monster like you can't do anything like that hence my sweet side isn't for you" she gave me a fake smile.

"Whatever" I rolled my eyes.

"I just wanted to thank you and also warn you-" I began speaking but she interrupted me as usual.

"Warn me?"

"Yes. Fab 5 is back with a bang and since you sorta top our target list, you need to be aware no"

"Really Manik?" She narrowed her eyes at me and I smiled back sweetly.

"Really"

"Such a monster" she muttered under her breath but I could still hear her. She looked annoyed but it was amusing to look at.

"You know I can listen to you right?"

"Oh well you should" she sassed making me laugh.

"Stop laughing na!" She whined like a child, stomping her feet on the ground but my laughter only increased.

"Such a kid you are shorty"

"Hey I am not short ok. Tum hi Eiffel Tower jaise lambe ho" she complained. I internally smiled at her cuteness but externally my expressions remained blank.
