Nandini just left leaving me all confused.

Was she right?

Was my new found affection for her indirectly affecting my friendship?

Was I being too ruthless with Mukti and Alia?

Ugh. Why is it all so messed up?!

I sighed to myself and started walking towards the jamroom when I came across Dhruv.

Just the right time!

I really needed his opinion on this matter.

"Buddy!" I called out to him but seemed like he didn't listen so I repeated my action and this time he stopped.

"Voh buddy mujhe tujhse kuch baat karni thi" I said as I approached him.

"Hm?"

"Voh actually-" I began but realised he wasn't really listening to me, he looked very distracted and...lost? like something was bothering him.

"Dhruv...buddy tu theek hai?" I asked, keeping my hand on his shoulder and shaking him gently to get him out of his trance.

"Huh? Ha. Mujhe kya hoga?" He smiled fakely and I frowned.

"Stop lying and spill already" I rolled my eyes.

Dhruv stiffened for a moment for herting caught but let out a sigh later and then turned to me.

"Manik I need to talk to you about Alia"

"Alia? What about her?" I was confused.

"Yaha nahi...let's talk somewhere peaceful and quiet, it's too noisy here, we won't be able to talk"

I just nodded and next I knew we were standing in an empty classroom. I stood there leaning against a table, waiting for Dhruv to speak but he just kept walking to and fro from left to right as if he was on some parade.

"Buddy kya hua hai? Why do you look so worried? Koi baat hui hai kya? You can share it with me you know" I spoke but Dhruv still looked restless. He stopped pacing around after a few moments and faced me after taking a deep breath as if he was collecting himself to say what he wanted to.

"Buddy I need to talk to you" his tone screamed urgency. I just nodded at him and a few moments later, we found ourselves in an empty classroom near the jamroom where I was waiting for Dhruv to speak.

"Dhruv kuch bolega bhi?" I tried urging him to speak up.

"Manik Alia...she-" he paused and continued again.

"She is not fine"

"Kya hua hai use?" I was worried, obviously.

"Buddy Alia has always had her own struggles since childhood due to her parents not being there for her and Harshad being her brother just adds up more but the good thing was that she found us, fab 5 and she found her peace there but then suddenly Nandini entered and she started feeling like she was losing you and me. She was getting insecure"

"How is Nandini entering our lives making her insecure?" I was actually confused.

"Manik you have always been an arrogant bully but your targets never lasted long but since Nandini has entered, she's always become the reason behind your actions some way or the other and that's different. No one has ever affected you so much like Nandini has Manik...its just you haven't realised it yet and about me..." he sighed.

"I have always been this introverted guy who was never interested in making friends outside fab 5 but suddenly I wanted Nandini to be my friend and that was very unsettling for Alia. She started thinking that slowly and steadily Nandini was trying to sneak into our lives and that we were getting distant from her, hence she started plotting against Nandini with Mukti. I dont know if I was able to explain her state of mind exactly but I had a talk with her some time ago and her insecurities and fear clearly reflected in her talks which if ignored can turn toxic in future isliye I suggest that we stop this whole ignoring game and sort things out" Dhruv completed but his words had hit me hard.
