Manik

I insulted her yet again when I heard Alia even though I wasn't convinced completely but I trusted her. Since the first day that I saw her...Nandini, for some reason I felt something stirring in my heart but my brain already knew I had to keep my distance from her. Her mother owned a legit strip club for God sake and Nandini was helping her.

What more did I need to justify?

Nandini kept staring at me with her clenched jaw as if trying to control her anger but eventually huffed.

"Kya hai na Manik, you think that whatever your friends or the people whom you trust say na is always correct and that's why you don't use your own brain. Tum itne impulsive ho that you fail to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong and your friends sometimes take advantage of it" she spat in disbelief and eyed Alia when she spoke the last sentence. My anger just increased listening to her.

How dare she accuse my friends of taking advantage of my anger?

"Shut up! Just shut up!" I yelled. "Tumhe kya lagta hai that you'll accuse my friends and I won't say anything? Tumhe lagta hai that I'll trust you over my friends...over fab 5?" My eyes held rage as I stared right in her eyes. "Then galat lagta hai tumhe Nandini Murthy" I seethed in anger, grabbing her by her arms and digging my nails in her skin.

"I didn't bother you much after whatever happened before na isliye tumhari himmat itni badh gayi hai varna you wouldn't have dared to say what you said today" I screamed right on her face and left her with a jerk. Her head dashed in the wall behind due to which a momentary hiss escaped her lips but she covered up quickly though I noticed it. For a moment, I did feel guilty of hurting her but it vanished the next second when I saw her glaring back at me without a single ounce of regret for the words she uttered a few minutes ago.

"Manik Malhotra tumhe lagta hai ki main tumse darti hu? I am not scared of you at all" she hissed looking right into my eyes.

"You think ki aise threats deke tum mujhe dara loge then you are so wrong Manik kyuki all of this isn't going to change the truth and the truth is ki you are an impulsive jerk who doesn't think before he acts and who blindly trusts his friends jinhe sirf tumhara faida uthana aata hai" she spoke through gritted teeth while I kept glaring her, my eyes turning red.

"Not a word more Nandini...Not. A. Word. More" I warned stressing on each word but she was too stubborn to shut her mouth.

"Kyu? Can't listen to the truth?" She mocked in amusement while I tried holding back my anger because I didn't want to do something that I would regret later.

"You bloody bitch, tumhe samajh nahi aata kya? Manik is being nice here and warning you to stay away from us but I think tumhe seedhe se baate samajh nahi aati. I think you really want to experience what fab 5 does to their targets nai?" Alia spoke, interrupting our conversation.

"Manik let's just leave, it's no use arguing and wasting your energy on this commoner. We'll tackle her tomorrow...fab 5 style" she told me, still looking angrily at Nandini as she dragged me away, holding my arm.

I was sitting near the pool at my place currently, gazing the stars when I felt a presence next to me and found Dhruv settled there.

"Buddy tu yaha? I mean itna late?"

"Kyu? Main yaha iss time par nahi aa sakta kya?" He asked me pointedly making me chuckle.

"Nahi ofcourse you are always welcome here, I was toh just asking...you know generally" I trailed off as I again shifted my focus to those twinkling stars. He nodded and settled down more comfortably. There was a comfortable silence for a few minutes but not able to take it, I decided to break the ice.
