"I had my headphones in" Bey said with her eyes closed praying Shawn blended in with the background . While her dad may have been an absent parent , he was still her father and a boy in her room would only look like one thing to him .
"Oh , I just wanted to check in" he said walking in closing the door behind him .
"Right now ?"Bey asked . Wait ? Why wasn't he attacking Shawn ?
Beyoncé turned around and saw that the room was empty beside her and her dad . She began looking around trying to figure out where he was hiding until She felt something grab her ankle .
"You okay ?" Matthew asked catching her as she nearly jumped out of her skin .
"Yes" she said grabbing her chest as she tried to catch her breath looking down to see Shawn under her bed giving her a thumbs up."I thought I saw a spider but it was a piece of hair" she lied grabbing a handful of braids before pulling them over her left shoulder . "Um, no offense daddy but why are you here ? Mom said you wouldn't be home until late" Bey asked confused by this whole situation .
"Well , that's the problem" he said sitting down on the bed making Bey hold her breath as she prayed he didn't notice anything underneath it . It was pretty high off the ground which is how she guessed Shawn slid his 6'2 frame under there so quickly but right now she was straight up paranoid . "I was at work today and I saw your senior picture on my desk and it made me realize my little girl had grown up right before my eyes and I had missed all of it" he said sadly.
"Dad it's okay" Bey tried to soothe even though it did kind of hurt . "You sent me to the best schools and you give the best gifts. Do I wish you were around more ? Yeah but I mean. That's all behind now . I'll be 18 soon and off to college" Bey smiled.
"Come here" he said patting his thigh . Bey sighed before sitting on his lap knowing she was too damn old for This . When he said he missed all her life he wasn't kidding . She wondered if he noticed that she wasn't an 11 year old girl anymore .
She was peacefully a woman with her own opinions and dreams .
It was a little awkward at first but when he wrapped his arm around her waist she couldn't help but melt into his chest as she slid both her legs in his lap soaking in his love as he kissed her forehead .
"Ive decided to take off" he said making her sit up quick .
"You quit your job ?"
"Heavens no" he laughed."Did that girl braid your hair too damn tight ? I'm taking off every Friday evening so we can have a father daughter date at least until summer is over . How does that sound ? I know that won't make up for much but God forbid something happen and I'm not close to my only child" he reasoned .
