A whimper echoed within the room.

Lucina was violently shaking, razor in hand, blood dripping from her thighs. The pain was keeping her in her place not moving. Thunder was crackling outside her apartment window. It was the middle of the night, she didn't know how it had happened. A while ago she was texting her aunt, now she was harming herself, caused by the memory lane she passed a while ago.

Lucina couldn't help it. Even with her cries and the pain she was receiving, she continued to cut 2 more. A total of 6 cuts were on each thigh.

This wasn't a strange occurrence in her life, with the multiple problems that are present in her life ever since the apparent sickness of her mother, finding a temporary solution to the pain she is facing was unavoidable. So unavoidable that Lucina had resorted to making a permanent solution.

She had tried multiple times in the past 2 years of pain, each time failing with the thought of a brighter future she could be going forward to. But alas, the bright light of hope was always nowhere to be seen, as if it wasn't even there to begin with. The idea of hope being non-existent was more realistic.

Maybe Lucina wasn't suppose to live this long..

It seems that the idea of making it permanent was coming into show again..

Lucina was frozen, the thought was clear on her mind.

do it

the voice said in her mind.

She tried to shake of the small voice inside of her.

It's okay, no one will know...

This was true. After the first attempt, Lucina knew it wasn't going to be the last, so she did all the precautions she could've done. She dropped all her friends, put on a façade of a "normal" teenage girl and kept silent throughout her Highschool. This resulted to her being an outcast or a recluse in society, but she didn't mind it.

Then what's stopping you?

It whispered.

That  triggered Lucina and as if she was controlled by it. She grabbed her jacket, and went straight for the door, not even taking care of her new made injuries.

....

She walked briskly, water droplets were hitting her face. No one was insight, perfect for the idea she wanted to partake in. She could see the bridge coming into view, so she walked quicker than before, ignoring the slight limp she had in every step.

When Lucina reached the bridge, she slowly put her hand on the piece of metal, the bridge to her and eternal happiness.

Lucina emotionlessly laughed at that.

Slowly, Lucina hoisted her first leg up the rail, careful not to slip and ruin her official plan. She breathed out loud, trying to calm her nerves every time thunder crackles in the sky.

Building up her courage she hoisted up her next leg, hoping to safely land the leg. Unfortunately, Lucina had a horrible luck this night that her leg slipped on  the wet ledge and slid to the sharp edge of a poorly secured metal piece of the bridge, cutting the skin of Lucina.

As if she didn't have a lot of injuries right now...

Shaking off the pain that surged through her body, Lucina turned around to face the dark trench the bridge's below offered.

"Eternal happiness" she breathed out.

It was so close, one move and it could be hers forever. Suiting the  thunderstorm and the dramatic events that is currently happening, Lucina's eyes started filling with tears. She couldn't believe it, nothing could stop her this time, she was serious this time

Lucina, wanting to end her life with one last wish, closed her eyes...

Promise me happiness...

When she opened her eyes, they were greeted by a flash of thunder that mildly blinded her eyesight. She then looked down, took a breath and loosened her hold on the railings. But before she could let go, a calm voice spoke behind her...

"Hey, I don't know about you but, I think that's not a great idea"
