"So, what did you tell him?"

"She said yes, obviously,"

"No, she definitely didn't, she would've told me by now, right Yumi?"

"Guys, relax," Yumi said with a small sigh. It was the following day since their match with Fukurodani and the third years would not stop questioning her about the ace and captain of the Fukurodani volleyball team. Well, all the third years except for Oikawa, who was too busy spending time with his girlfriend to spend lunch with his friends. "I told you guys, I told him that I wouldn't date him because I don't want to risk anything ruining our friendship," Yumi repeated for what felt to be the seventeenth time today, immediately glaring at the disapproving looks on the third years' faces. "What?" she asked, the topic making her grow more and more irritated with the group. "Well, we were really rooting for you and the Owl, even though he's our rival," Matsukawa admitted, making Yumi turn a bright pink at the sudden revelation. "M-Matsukawa-san! Don't say such things," she squeaked out, immediately covering her face to hide the embarrassment written all over her face. "He's not wrong, Yumi. We all seriously thought you'd say yes to him," Hanamaki said, making Iwaizumi snort. "Yeah, everyone except Oikawa," he huffed out, making the other three tense up. It's only been a day since Oikawa and Nagisa began dating and it was already the buzz of the school, from the first years to the third years. "I heard she went to his house this morning to pick him up, which is why he didn't walk with me," Iwaizumi continued as he ate his food, making Yumi's nose scrunch up. "God, I don't get it. I mean, I do get it, she's pretty, but there's not much else. I heard she has a really nasty attitude," Hanamaki told the group, making Yumi scoff. "Well at least they have one thing in common," she commented slyly, making the group laugh. "So... are any of us going to discuss the elephant in the room?" Hanamaki questioned, making the group look at him in confusion as he rolled his eyes and stared at Yumi. "What does that Nagisa girl have against you?" He questioned, Yumi's eyes widening as Iwaizumi and Matsukawa's mouths dropped. "Maki we decided not to question it!" Matsukawa hissed at the boy who merely shrugged. "I, I don't know what you're talking about," Yumi said cautiously to the three boys who gave her curious stares. "Oh, well we already mentioned it to you, Yu-chan, and there's no changing the obvious so you shouldn't try and cover it up," Matsukawa told the girl bluntly, who felt her face burning up at the sight of her three upperclassmen's questioning stares. "Listen guys, it's really nothing, I can handle it myself," Yumi warned the boys, who just face palmed at the stubbornness that is their underclassmen.

"Handle what by yourself?"

Yumi tensed up as she heard the voice of their captain, while the boys looked at each other with panicked expressions. How were they supposed to say that they were talking about his witch of a girlfriend? "Nothing Oikawa-senpai, I was just talking about my car, it's got a leak but I can handle it, I'll fix it," Yumi quickly slipped a lie out of her mouth, hoping it was enough to convince him. "You know how to fix cars? Oh wow Yumi-kun, you're so masculine, I wonder if you were supposed to be born as a boy instead," Nagisa said with a girlish giggle, who was met with an indifferent Yumi, an annoyed Matsukawa and Hanamaki, an angry Iwaizumi and a confused Oikawa. "Eh? Nagisa-kun, that's kind of m-"

"Toru! How about we sit with my friends today? I promise we can sit with yours some other day, what do you think?" Nagisa asked the confused boy, who merely got tugged away becore he could agree to anything. "I- ah! I guess I'll see you guys at practice," Oikawa said quickly before he got dragged away. "She's a bitch," Yumi said bluntly, immediately getting shocked looks from the boys. "Yumi! You curse?" Matsukawa asked dumbly as the girl merely rolled her eyes at them. "Of course I do, my brother's best friend has a sister in college, I hang out with her a lot, she's like a sister to me as well," Yumi said with a shrug, while the guys immediately gave her shocked looks. "You're talking about the skinhead?" Iwaizumi questioned, earning a warning look from Yumi. "Tanaka Ryunoske, feel free to use either of those names when you address my brother's friend please," Yumi stated clearly, sending a shiver down Iwaizumi's back. 'Scary,' he thought sadly as his other friends laughed at him for getting scolded. "Anyways," Yumi sighed, looking at the three boys apologetically, "if you're seriously wondering about her, she may or may not hate me solely because of the fact that I'm the volleyball manager, which means in her brain that I'm using all my time and energy to seduce Toru instead of, you know, being a manager," Yumi ended with an eye roll, receiving confused looks from the other boys. "But, what would ever give her that idea that you like him?" Hanamaki questioned, making Yumi cringe. "Yeah, well, about that, I may or may not have seen Toru play in middle school and I used to think he was the cutest person alive and had a humongous crush on him," she rushed out, her face growing hot and her head facing the table, not wanting to make eye contact with her classmates, although she could feel their eyes burning holes into her skull. "Please don't hate me, it was a stupid crush, and I got over it, and I know that I should've probably said something when I applied for the manager position because you had asked me if I liked Oikawa Iwaizumi-senpai but I really didn't think it'd matter because it was in the past but-"
