"Ali? Ali?" a voice says to pull me out of sleep. "Wake up, Ali."
"Shhh. My head," I groan.
"You're hungover, I know. Here, I have medicine." I open my eyes slowly to see Harry standing over me holding two pills. "I'll make you something to eat," he says as he places them in my hand. "Get dressed. You're physcial is today, and I'll be driving you"
"Where's Niall?" I ask. Harry sighs before answering.
"He woke up this morning, early, and he told me he wanted to go back home for a bit. He flew to Ireland on a last minute flight," he answers."He said to call him when you wake up."
"Why didn't he tell me he was leaving?" I ask.
"He needs to talk to his family about a few things. He said he has a big decision to make. He'll be back in a couple weeks," Harry says. "Take your pills," he instructs before leaving me alone.
I swallow the pills without water. When I try to stand, I notice that I'm naked, and the memories of last night flood into my mind. I'm so disgusted with myself. He broke my heart, and then I go throwing myself at him, desperate just to feel close to him- even if it just was physical. Truth be told, I've never felt farther from him. He left the country this morning without even saying goodbye. My head screams not to call him, but my heart years to hear his voice. I give in to the latter and slide on Niall's t-shirt from the night before.
"Ali?" his voice rings through my ear.
"Yes, it's me. What's going on?" I ask, trying not to cry.
"I uh, I needed to talk to my parents about a few things. I'll be back tomorrow morning, though," he answers.
"What was so urgent? You left this mornign and didn't even tell me. No note, nothing," I say.
"I actually woke you up, but you told me to fuck off because you're always so grumpy when you drink," he answers, chuckling. "You could fly out and join me if you wanted. My family would love to see you, I'm sure."
"I have to work, but maybe next time," I answer. As if there will be a next time.
"Alright...I love you, babe," he sighs.
"Bye, Niall," I say and hang up. Once the call ends, I begin sobbing. My emotions are running high right now. I can't even focus in on a single feeling. They all seem to blur together into one big physical pain. My heart literally hurts. They don't call it a broken for nothing. The worst part? I'm all too familiar with this feeling.
"Ali? What's wrong?" a concerned Liam says from the other side of my door.
"Come in, Li," I say quietly.
"Babe, what's the matter?" he asks as he pulls me in for a hug.
"I hate everything today," I cry into his chest.
"Do you need to talk about it?" he asks.
"No, I just need to stop thinking about it. Sitting and wallowing won't do me any good. Besides, I have an appointment today," I reply.
"Appointment?" he asks.
"Just a physcial. No biggie," I answer and start whiping the tears away.
"You know Niall loves you right? You know how much he loves you," he says.
"He tells me all the time," I answer.
But talk is cheap.
"Okay...I just needed to check. Do you need a ride to your appointment?" he asks.
