"Big brother!" The childish laughter of a little girl echoed through the halls of the royal palace. Her small feet barely made any sound in the large open corridors, "Come on! You had a head start, that's not fair!"
She was chasing after a young blonde boy, pushing past guards and really anyone who stood in her way. "Thooor!" She let out a shrill cry, tripping over the hem of her dress as she tumbled down a flight of stairs, and into the body of another young boy.
"Hm? Y-Y/n!?" He immediately threw his book aside, barely up the first steps as she collided face first into his chest and sent both of them flying. They both crashed into a nearby display case, causing glass to shower around them and the vases into to shatter.
Several guards turned heads and immediately ran towards them, hauling the princess to her feet. She had a sheepish grin on her face, allowing herself to hang from the arms of a guard as she watched another haul Loki to his feet.
"Hey Ki-Ki," she waved innocently, to which the boy just groaned.
"Princess, must you be to reckless?"
She was dropped onto her feet, brushing off her dress. "I didn't mean to! It's not my fault Ki-Ki was in the way!"
Loki groaned again, a faint blush spreading across his face each time she used such a nickname.
"Please, be careful next time."
She frowned as she continued to be scolded, her gaze shifting to Loki. He had already retrieved his book, brushing off the cover and his own pants.
"Sorry, Ki-Ki."
"Oh, it's fine." He smiled slightly, "Really!"
"Sister?" More footsteps echoed through the corridor as Thor approached the two of them, "Are you alright?"
"Yup!" She tackled him into a hug, "You know, this wouldn't have happened if you just let me win!"
Thor's gaze wandered to the broken glass, biting his lip. Y/n looked around innocently, rocking back and forth on her heels. Loki just stood there, hugging his book to his chest.
"I saw father in the west wing," Thor cleared his throat. "You both have a few minutes to run."
Y/n remained still for a few moments before grabbing Loki's arm and sprinting. She ran down the opposite corridor, the raven haired boy stumbling behind her.
"Where are we going?"
"Anywhere away from the crime scene!"
She turned a corner and kicking open a door before throwing Loki into an empty room. He landed on the floor with a thud.
"Ow..."
"Sorry," Y/n extended a hand for him to grab, to which he did gratefully.
"It's okay," he looked around the room quietly. "So, what were you and Thor doing?"
"Playing tag," she played with one of her sleeves while looking around. "Except he cheated!"
Loki gave a slight laugh, setting his book down on a table. He sat in a chair by the window, his feet dangling slightly as he rested his elbow on
the windowsill. He gazed out across the vast kingdom, beginning to hum quietly.
