Destiny's POV

My eyes ran over her appreciating just the way the red dress she wore made her skin glow as conversation continued to fall between us. Her light brown complexion had the intensity of her hazel eyes increasing which at the moment resembled a light shade of green.

Her small mannerisms and sense of dominance had me sitting on the legs of adoration all night, it was almost impossible not to stare and even harder to concentrate on anything else but the way her lips formed the words that were mine to keep and the way her eyes travelled over me once every few minutes shamelessly as if she wanted me to know she wasn't afraid of looking.

"-and that's why I don't associate myself with them anymore," She finished and I released a small laugh as our eyes met once more.

"You're a tad bit dramatic aren't you?" I teased and she smiled as her gaze flashed behind me for a split second for the hundredth time since we got here.

"What do you keep looking at?" I asked not being able to overlook the small action any longer and she smiled, lifting her glass of wine to take a sip.

"You have an admirer," She pointed out amused and I glanced behind me meeting the eyes of a woman, before quickly diverting my gaze once more.

"Did you see her?" She questioned while putting her glass down once more.

"Of course I saw her, she's looking right at me," I answered, earning a small smile as her 3c curls fell shamelessly in her face.

"Do you want to go over and say hi?"

"What?"

"She's obviously attracted to you," She pointed out as if it was common knowledge and her statement pulled a small laugh from me.

"I'm here with you,"

"I don't mind," She voiced and I frowned trying my best to figure out where her mind was while viewing her prompt as a test of some-

"Think of it as a dare, if you can get her number I'll invest in your publishing company," She voiced, making me smile.

"Are you serious?" I asked, surprised by her lack of jealousy while also intrigued by her suggestion.

"I am," She assured chuckling and I glanced to the woman before turning to meet her heavy gaze once more.

"Ok,"

Mesi's POV

I watched as she walked gracefully to the other end of the bar and the slight sway of her hips left me mesmerised as I finished the last of my drink before motioning for the bartender.

"Another," I voiced and he nodded refilling my glass as I kept my eyes focused on the exchange between Destiny and the woman that had just begun. I watched as the woman's eyes moved over to me before returning to Destiny whose body language voiced her seductive nature.

She was very different from all the women I had come in contact with, her confident personality being one that I admired dearly since I had battled with self-confidence for multiple years. I wasn't sure what my doubts and insecurities stemmed from. I only knew that they were once the root of who I was.

I watched as she leaned over whispering something in the woman's ear and the words she had placed together earned a small laugh as the woman's hand moved around destiny's waist securely.

A few seconds passed before she began making her way back over to me with a pleased smile on her face.

"I'll let my assistant contact you first thing Monday morning," She announced the minute she got to me and I chuckled watching as she sat down.

"I'm guessing you got the number," I voiced amused with my attraction for her seemingly increasing at that moment, building something that could only be described as desire.

"Is our table ready?" She questioned breaking me out of the trance I was currently falling into.

"Yeah, are you ready to go in?"

"Yeah,"
