Destiny's POV

"It's at the end of the hall," The woman instructed and I released a small thank you before making my way over to it.

I lifted my hand to knock on the door gently before pulling it open to see her sitting around her desk, with her usually curly hair straightened to increase the displayed length.

"How was last night?" Mesi asked the minute I closed the door in reference to my outing with my roommate, and I released a small smile as her eyes ascended to meet me.

"It was okay, I actually came home early," I explained as I began walking towards her while taking the time to appreciate the beauty of her office which practically mirrored her personality from the neatly stacked books on her desk to the black and grey that drowned the room.

"Really?" She questioned as I sat down in the chair before her desk.

"I felt like a third wheel the entire night so I just went home" I replied since my roommate had spent the majority of the time with her significant other, and I watched as Mesi's tense body relaxed slightly.

"So why didn't you invite me?" She questioned as her eyes shifted to my breasts shamelessly.

"I didn't think I could," I expressed truthfully while hiding the amusement her lingering gaze had brought.

"You didn't think you could?" She repeated confusedly before relocating her eyes to mine as a frown settled on her face.

"I mean even though we established that we're together it's not like we've been really public, I doubt that you have told anyone," I uttered.

"I don't really have anyone to tell otherwise from my father and, Uhm, Jazmine but I think it would be more of your place to tell her," She expressed seemingly hurt by my recently voiced words.

"Okay," I replied in hopes of ending the exchange.

"Okay as in you will start inviting either one of your partners out?"

"Yes," I replied with a smile in an attempt to lighten the mood but it was hard to tell whether or not I had succeeded, since instead of offering words she simply returned to her work while the length of her hair continued to remind me of the power that shrinkage possessed.

"What time are you leaving?" I inquired, hating the silence and I watched as she resettled her eyes to her watch to check the time.

"Whenever I get done,"

"It's already five," I pointed out and she bit the inside of her cheek before leaning back in her chair to allow her gaze to meet mine.

"I know,"

"Is this a usual thing for you?" I asked worriedly, noticing her exhaustion.

"You're concerned?" She expressed in a statement-like tone that didn't hide her slight surprise as she removed her body from her chair. My eyes stayed present on her in appreciation, allowing me to enjoy the way her red buttoned-down complimented the black skirt she wore.

"Did you just get off work?" She asked curiously as she leaned against her desk to face me with her intimidating eyes meeting mine in the same instant.

"No, I got off at three," I answered softly.

"Did you call Sam?" She poked, folding her arms.

"Yes," I confessed, watching as her face split into a slight smile.

"And?" She inquired.

"Is this your way of trying to get me to leave?"

"No, I genuinely want to know, we haven't talked all day,"
