mia had not said anything to me in about 35 minutes and we were now on the drive home from the grocery store.

i guess i was out of line for suggesting us to move out, but would we ever? she's wearing her promise ring and stella will be turning two in the winter.

isn't she ready?

was mia expecting to just be in ian and max's house forever?

stella had started to get fussy which i assumed was due to her teething, her front teeth were starting to come in and i felt so terrible that she was in so much pain.

since mia had been seemingly ignoring me i had time to think and realized that it was june, and mias birthday.... is at the end of june.

mias birthday is in two days.

fuck, fuck, fuck.

i have nothing prepared and it's her first birthday that i'm back, what am i gonna do?

i pulled into the driveway and took the keys out of the ignition.

mia got out of the car and unbuckled a now crying stella from her car seat. i grabbed the grocery bags and followed mia inside.

ian jogged down the stairs at the sound of our arrival and smiled when he saw stella.

he was wearing jeans and a maroon hoodie, he pushed his glasses up and ran a hand through his short hair.

"aw, c'mere bug," ian cooed, and mia handed her over. stella buried her head into ians chest and sniffled.

"she's can have a snack now," mia sighed, and ian nodded heading into the kitchen with stella.

mia headed upstairs as i turned into the kitchen to unpack the groceries.

ian was handing stella tiny cut up pieces of watermelon while wiping tears off her flushed face.

i put away the almond milk and all the fruit, "mias birthday is in two days, what are we gonna do?" i asked, turning to look at ian.

"fuck," ian mouthed. "uhhh, talk to max, you guys can plan something. we can do dinner? we'll have to find somewhere that we can bring stella," ian sighed, handing stella a raspberry.

"we can do a nice dinner here? remember when we set up the backyard all nice when i got signed to 88rising?" i mumbled, racking my brain for ideas.

ian laughed, "God, that was like forever ago. yeah, that's a good idea, we've got lights and stuff in the garage?"

i nodded, "okay, yeah. max can help me. and mias gonna be out all morning for baby dance class and errands."

"what are you gonna get her?" ian asked, and i shook my head, "no clue."

ian had gone to go watch some show stella likes in the living room, and mia was still upstairs.

i made her an iced matcha and placed a straw in it, i made my way up the stairs, through the hallway, and knocked on our bedroom door.

"mia?" i asked softly, and i heard footsteps and the door swung open, revealing mia.

she must have showered as her hair was wet and framed her face. she had white loose pants on and a light pink, lacy bra.

"i made you matcha," i smiled, handing her the drink as a peace offering. she grinned and took the glass, placing it down on her vanity.

she grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the room, her small hands rested on my face and our lips pressed together.

i was shocked but definitely not upset, she pulled away, her hands dropped from my face.
